    Bashkir Curly?

Does anyone know much about this breed?  I stumbled upon this very nice looking white Bashkir Curly who I may take a look at to buy.  They say he is a packer around a 2'9" course, knows his job and safe and sane.  That's exactly what I'm looking for and he's close by.  They say he's on no supplements, 15.3h, and has shoes on the fronts, he's also 16.  He has a lot of experience and he has very cute form over fences from the pictures.  I really like his look (the pics show his summer coat) and he appears to be pretty hardy.

Does anyone have experience with this breed and if so, tell me about it.  Can they really be fine going through a hunter course of about 2'3" twice per month at shows at that age?

I have very little experience with them, but from all I have had (and all I've hear - have know several people who have had them). I LOVE them. I would totally look to getting one for my son when he gets older. They tend to have a personallity more like a QH (mellow). I've seen them used as vaulting horses too.

    Btw, they are hypoallergenic too.

    Good luck. :)

I've never had personal experience with the breed other than petting the occasional one, but I've heard good things about easy temperament and rideability.  2'3" twice a month sounds totally doable for a 16 year old horse, providing he is healthy and has been well cared for.  Since he knows his job, he probably won't need schooling over jumps, so wear and tear from jumping at this point should be minimal.

No first hand experience, but I understand they are hypoallergenic and therefore a great choice for folks with allergies to animal dander. They supposedly have wonderful temperments.

Here's a link with lots of info.
