Where in Georiga?  You can post them on the GA Horse Council web site.  There are some others that I'm trying to think of but at this moment they have escaped me.  I'll keep thinking about it.  It also does depend on where the rides are located.    Well, one thing that you can do is contact other local clubs.  If you live near Athens then I know a lot of places or north GA, etc.

You may have heard of our ride!!!  I am with Silver Spur Riding Club.  This will be our 13th year for our Fall Ride!  We are listed on the judges list but I was wanting to get the word out to more people this year! 

I belong to 4 saddle clubs.  Give me a flyer or a story about the ride and I'll put it in their newsletters.  I've ridden at Silver Spur many times.  It's a great place for my six year old granddaugther to camp and ride with me.  I was just talking about it the other day and telling people to ride there.  Send it to my e-mail and I'll do what I can.  This is one of the things that this list should be about.  Plus I'm trying to get people to tell me about the trail volunteer groups in their states, plus I'm always looking for new places to camp and ride or just ride, plus  ---  O.K. I guess that's enough things that I want.    

I live just outside of Watkinsville which is about three hours from Dublin when I'm hauling a trailer.

 Grandma Trail Rider rides again!!

I'm beginning to think that this is not the forum for me.  There seem to be lots of riders but not much response to my messages.  I'm a trail rider.  I don't have to have a hundred messages to answer something but a few would be nice. I don't have much time for the computer but I would like to find some people in other states that can help me find trails to ride.  I'm trying to ride in as many different states as I can.  Anyone able to help me?  I also work on lots of trails so that we all can ride now and in the future.  I was hoping to find new friends to ride with since I ride a lot.  Am I being cranky?? I guess I am and I'm sorry for that.  I tried to find a moderator to ask about this e-mail but my limited computer skills were not enough.

 Anyone know of a forum strictly for trail riders??

I just got abck froma ranch ride.  I found out about it from this website,

It covers Texas, Colorado, Lousiana, Missouri and Oklahoma.  I'm from Texas and I just went on the Old Chilsom.  It was alot of fun.

There are not alot of people around here anymore so you wont get many answers to posts.  Try googling trailrider forum or something like that if you want to find a forum specifically for trailriders.  Good luck and have fun ridin'.

The only places I know to ride here in Georgia are the state parks and then the organized rides that are listed on the Judges List....sorry I couldn't be of more help.  Pretty much the only place we trail ride is at our riding club Silver Spur in East Dublin...especially with fuel prices being so high, its hard to travel when our club is only 10 mins away and is beautiful to ride!!!!!!!

Why don't you start your own?  Looks to me like you got several responses, but not everyone trail rides.

I am on several horse forums and enjoy them all. I don't know if I can post them here but  if you google horse forums you will come up with a bunch. I live in Tennessee and  there are a lot of nice trails here. Do you ride gaited horses? If so, you would love gaitedhorsesenseonline.com, they post about trailriding and post pics. all the time. Hope you find some good ones.

We are mostly in California, and are even going to the coast for a week to ride the beach and mountains of Montana De Oro, this is a horse camp in central Cailf that is a must for fun!  It is part of the California State Park system, and while primitive affords soooo much space and different terrain that it is a fav of most REAL trail riders.

I live in the high desert area abvout 50 miles n.w. of Los Angeles and we ride the buttes and canyons daily as well do some competitive rides.  I'll try to include some pics if I can to show you our area!

 hi steve - i FINALLY got my first trailer, and am going on my first horse camping trip this weekend - to marshall cyn. in la verne (off the 210 in the claremont area i think).  but what i am truly stoked about is going to montana de oro w/my eti corral next summer/fall.  they go once or twice a year, and i've been aching to go!  our horses are in shadow hills (across the wash from lake view terrace.  had a great view of the fires on our ride in the hills yesterday.  i heard a lot of horses in brown canyon didn't make it.  too tragic to even fathom.)  anyhow, nice to run across a fellow so cal-ite.

Steve,  Thanks for the pictures.  I have ridden near Bishop, CA a couple of years ago.  It was an experience to remember.  Much different trails and trees, etc. from where I live.  GA is a horse friendly state to a certain degree.  We have five state parks, two or three wildlife management areas and county parks within an hour of me.  I just got back from South Carolina.  I took my six year old granddaugther riding and camping.  We had a blast.  She is definitely a future trail rider.  It's for her sake that I work on the trails and hope that more kids will ride.

Don't know if this will help, but in Kentucky, the place to go is Wrangler's Camp, at Land Between the Lakes. It's a great little horse camp with many trails of varying legnth and terrain.  It has campsites, cabins, a restaurant and a bath house as well as a day use area for us locals.  The trails are marked and vary in range from 2.9 miles to 19.3 miles in legnth and all are lovely.  Some are woodsy, some go around Kentucky Lake, you name it, we have it lol...the number to call for info is: 270-924-2201.  We've had numerous NARTC trail rides here as well as the Purina Race of Champions and have riders come in from all over the country as well as Canada.
