    BAD LIMP...DONT KNOW WHY...

Alright so I took soldier out today and right as i started walking him i noticed his back leg, he wouldnt put any pressure on it. He'd stand it some but you could tell he's in pain. he has no cuts or anything on his leg and, checked his hoof, looks fine.

I cant figure out what going on here.... I'm calling the vet, but any insight from you guys....?

    abscess

Or he's got arthritic changes and twisted his hock enough to make it sore.

Were you taking him out of the pasture? (or stall?)  If the pasture...then it could be a number of things!  He could have "wrenched" something in his back, pelvis, stifle?  Have you felt from his pastern up the cannon bone?  My mare pulled a suspensory ligament in her hind leg. It slowly began to swell from the pastern up the cannon bone.  She had a serious limp when it first happened.  I think a vet check is you best bet!

I agree to get a vet out, it could be so many things.  Let us know what happens.

    Update!

He completely healed by himself...it was gone within 2 or 3 days. I just put him on stall rest and all was well. :]

Good deal!  So did the vet ever check him out?  I would still watch that leg for a while.
