Naming Thread! (Updated... what do you think of this name?)

For those of you who don't know this yet, Amber ended up placing a bid on the grey Mustang mare as well as Miss Kitty. She has awesomely offered to begin the mare's training and then let me buy her and bring her up here. It was one of those situations where everything ended up working out! We're trying to decide on a name for her right now, and could really use suggestions. I have a couple of thoughts myself, but would love to hear your suggestions. The name that I thought of first was Cielo (Spanish for sky or heaven) but I'm not quite sure it's right, so I'd really appreciate your help!

ETA: I'm not sure the pictures are showing up correctly, so here is a link to her adoption page again:https://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/horse.php?horse_id=2633

Oh my gosh! Congratulations!  I got so excited by the other TWO horses Amber got that I didn't even notice!!!  I'm so glad that she is going to have such a great home!!!

    I really like Sadie.

The native american tribes who live where she was captured are the Arapaho, Cheyenne, Crow and Shoshone (Shoshoni).

Other than "Cheyenne" or "Shoshoni", I also like "Windwalker", (a film shot using the Cheyenne and Crow Languages w/ english subtitles)

Sadie is really cute too, I just thought I'd put the other ideas out there since they have to do with her "heritage" Smile

Congratulations Anni!!!!   I'm so happy for you Big Smile.  I don't have any new names to add.  I just wanted to say YAY and that of the names given, I like Dove and Silk.  I think her coloration of grey looks like a dove Wink.

cool!  I really like the name Cielo, but yes, she really is the color of a morning dove, and the Spanish word for Dove is Paloma or Morning Dove is Manana Paloma (with a ~ (tilde) over the first N) which I think is pretty also.  Keep us posted on her journey!

    Wow that's AWESOME!  Great news!

I love the name Cielo, but seeing the other names suggested, I like them all.  So basically I'm no help at all in naming her :)

    Re: Naming Thread!

Thanks guys! Everything's still in the works, I want to make sure I have a good trainer lined up to help me and everything since I've never taken on a challenge like this (all the horses I've helped train have been green broke already except for one filly I helped halter train) so I'm excited to learn but am definitely going to need help!

I love some of the names you have given, especially Windtalker and Cheyenne. Both very pretty. I think she looks more like a Windtalker, I think maybe I knew a chestnut named Cheyenne once? For some reason I always think of chestnuts now when I hear the name.

We'd love to hear more suggestions. :)

LOL maybe that's what I was thinking of? I'm pretty sure I've ridden a chestnut mare named Cheyenne, though...
