    Welcome from the Editor

Welcome to the new EQUUS bulletin board, an on-line forum for people who are passionate about their horses. Come here to discuss EQUUS articles, exchange ideas, pose questions or simply share your experiences. You can also ask questions of EQUUS' editors and suggest story ideas.

Thanks for stopping by, we hope you'll be back soon!

Cool idea, Equus is my favorite magazine... So informative, and I love reading about all the new cures/diseases/etc. :O)

Agreed, it's very different from other magazines. Actually gives out facts and helpful information rather than just advice (not that I don't love advice!)

    Re: Welcome from the Editor

Equus was my first "horsie" magazine back when I bought my first horse.... and I remember the first few issues from when I was in college with the regular updates on how Equus was growing. This will be great to have a place for direct input to the magazine.

I have never subscribed to Equus before, but after hearing all the wonderful comments about it, I think I will put it on my Wish List.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the suggestion regarding owning a boarding stable. We'll see if we can work that information into future issues. In the meantime, you may be interested in an upcoming story about a related topic—boarding older or ailing horses—which will appear in our October issue. Thanks again and let us know if you have any other suggestions!

    Re: Welcome from the Editor

I'll be interested to read that article. The barn I board at does take very good care of my senior, but it will be informative to see what sort of issues barn owners need to deal with.

    Re: Welcome from the Editor

I'm reading that Oct. Equus article, Boarding Your Aging Horse, right now! Very imformative. The therapy barn has older horses. They are mostly turned out. I think they would be out more, if there was more pasture space. The location is a temporary one, for now.

    Re: Welcome from the Editor

Equus is one of my favourite magazines. It's very informative and interesting to read.

As for article suggestions... maybe something about wolf teeth in young horses? Or confirmation faults in foals and young horses (such as club foot, long pasterns, low in the heel, etc.)? Or how much of a workload you can ask of a young horse?

As you can probably tell, I have a yearling, and want to expand my knowledge whenever possible. Smirk
