    Looking for a pic of...

Does anyone happen to have a pic, or know of an appendix quarter horse/canadian horse cross? It's possible I may be getting one, and wondered what they look like. Could someone also possibly tell me about the Canadian horse breed? Sad I am Canadian but don't know much about the breed at all! What are they known for? Thanks.

    Never heard of that cross.

But I did find a pic of a Canadian horse.

    Here's some info on them.

I have a friend who breeds Canadians and to me they look like 16 hand my little ponies! They are a heavy draft-type breed so an appendix canadian cross would probably look like your typical draft cross type horse. Here is a Canadian/Tb cross:

Here's a great site to learn about them

I had a CDN/TB cross, who I loved and was a really nice little hunter. My friend's gelding took first in his division in-hand at their breed nationals last year, gorgeous horse! The judge praised him as an example of the classic type, instead of the more refined version some are breeding now. I'll ask her if she has a photo I can show you.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to find out what the mare in foal to the Canadian looks like (she's an appendix qh). May turn out to be a real nice baby! My friend is thinking of buying the mare for a pleasure horse... and she won't need the baby and I'm looking for another horse, that's the story lol.

Here's a breed profile I did on the Cheval Canadien, or Canadian Horse -- http://www.equisearch.com/breeds/canadianprofile/index.html

    It has a pic too.

From what I've heard, Canadian Horses are pretty versatile, good all-arounders. So I'm guessing that an Appendix Quarter Horse/Canadian Horse cross will be pretty much suited to anything you can throw at them.
