We're tilling over our paddocks. So, all the horses are in the trail area. The trail area is between the property fence and the paddocks. The trail can be used for turnout if one chose to take a longer walk to fetch a horse.
Often, my wife would go bareback on the first horse she catches so she could round up the rest. Sometimes, one or two would play "tag". When I happen to hear her frustrated hollers, then I join in the round up to control the gates or somehow block the horses' retreat.
Because of the tilling, all the horses have been together on the trail for three days. Two of the paddocks are now ready for occupancy, so my wife wanted to move two or three of the horses there.
Seems she had some difficulty separating anyone from the herd. She's decided that they have all gone "wild". So today, she's going to re-establish who is boss. If she's greets me with a swinging lead rope, then I know she's been "cracking the whip".
