    Quick Question re Saddles

Can non-gaited horses use gaited-horse saddles?  What makes the gaited saddles different than the non-gaited?

    Thanks,
    Mary

    Good riding,

As long as the saddle fits the horse it will not matter. The gaited saddle is made to free up the shoulders of a gaited horse. What horse wouldn't like more movement in that area.

Why ride when you can glide with a Tennessee Walker....

They are usually too wide.  I say usually, because there is always the exception!Wink

. . .and ride that pony fast
like a cowboy from the past
be young and wild and free
    like Texas in 1880. . .

See my reply in WESTERN, saddle fitting for thoroughbred type. I have great luck using gaited saddle on my appendix with prominant withers and QH barrel. But it came with a lot of experimenting.
