    McCue Redkan Escambia Desert Conference

I thought I'd start a new thread here so everyone can continue the conversations they were enjoying at the old site. Wink

It's another scorching hot day here in Southeastern Ontario, with more to come. My granddaughter and her best friend arrive Monday for Grammacamp, my grandson too if he feels he can handle two 12 year olds on his case all day (he's 10) and if the heat continues I can see us spending more time in the lake than on the horses.

Girls that age aren't usually too keen on getting up early, but in this weather we need to start riding by 6 am so the horses can spend the heat of the day in the barn.

Neat.. How to beat the heat 101 should be a topic, eh? It's sposed to be 100 today here also. My garden isn't happy, neither is my yard..

I am about to head to town to get an adjustment(chiro) and have lunch with my dad.. Then I have got to get busy round here so I will be ready to head out with hub and bil on sat am.. I am looking forward to beating some of the humidity in SD at least.. XX fingers

So I shouldn't tell you that it's about 80 with relatively low humidity here today??? On the other hand I have a carpenter at the house who is supposed to be replacing siding but called and said sill on picture window is rotting... $1000 to replace. Argh...... Frown

Frown Another call, this one from DH, two more windows..... We're replacing one and holding off on the other as we expect to put a door there in a few more years. Sigh.... all my extra budget money was supposed to go in the kitchen, not into windows. On the plus side the new kitchen window (casement/picture window) is in and looks great!!

Ugh, it's been 95-100 here too... gotta ride really early or really late, I'd choose LATE anyday Smile

....and I just went out to turn off the water (garden) and it's down to about 65 outside.... great sleeping weather.

Actually, I'm home now and hubby was right, the window looks great but *drumming fingers* I wonder what happened to the grills and the screens???? All this wonderful weather and I have to keep my new window closed because there's no screen in it. Skeeters are not part of my intended kitchen decor....

Does this mean I can loose track just as fast here?????

    :)

Daughter took the rescue dog (the one who would not even make eye contact) inot 4-H and ended up with a blue ribbon 1/2 point below reserve champion!

Really good when she missed 1/2 of the dog practices and would not let me touch the dog.... :)

Lee Valley Tools has something that will penetrate rotting wood and restore it to structural soundness. I've used it on my old window frames, along with a bit of plastic wood where necessary, with considerable success.

LOL, leave a man in charge.... I was leaving the house this morning and found the missing screens just inside the porch door... where my husband now admits they told him they were leaving them..... sheesh... (we need an icon for rolling eyes, lol) Wink
