So I got a job out here in Utah, and to celebrate, I got a puppy!!  His name is Teddy and he is a 7 month old yellow lab mix.  Mixed with what, we don't know.  He's quite small, about 20lbs. and the vet said he wouldn't get much bigger.  Of course I took some pictures because I know that a post about a new animal just wouldn't be acceptable here.

 It isn't the wall that is crooked, its my camera abilities!

 Congrats!!  That's so exciting!  I see some (bully?) terrier in there.  He's a cutie.

 Thanks guys!  I'm pretty excited as this the first dog that I've owned, not just a family dog.  

 Solo- I think there must be some kind of terrier in him, he has the selective hearing that most terriers enjoy using!

Ummmm.... I'm trying to not let myself think that! hahaha  I'm going to save up some money and make sure I find the right barn, then get an OTT TB.  I'm trying to sell the trip to California to look at horses as a fun vacation to my boyfriend, we'll see if he'll go for it!

Awww.......he's a cutie!  What did you name him?

 His name is Teddy!  My preschool wants him to be the school mascot.  I foresee many children loving him in the near future!

I think your puppy has plans to take over your world. There's a gleam in his eye. An adorable gleam, but still a gleam. 

 Yes, Gracie, Teddy will be top dog of the world someday.  We've decided that he must be a mix of every breed of dog, so he will be able to dominatenot just us, but everyone who is a sucker for a cute face!

I do miss Maine, but I love it here in Utah.  I live in Salt Lake as well, it is a great city!

I would bet money he is a yellow lab/pit bull mix.  I love pitties and don't buy into the bad rap they get... but be aware that your insurance company could cancel your insurance if they feel he is a pit bull mix.  Many insurance companies have "banned breed" lists that they refuse to insure.  American Family, Progressive, and most other big name companies ALL breed discriminate.  Makes me so darn mad!

The three I know that do NOT discriminate are State Farm (my insurance company), Farmers, and Auto-Owners. 

 Thanks guys!  He is very sweet and has become a (very active) member of the family.  He got his first bandanna and a hiking pack the other day, and will have a chance to break it in this weekend.  

 We are pretty sure that he is a Jack Russell/Lab mix.  He has the small head and terrier instincts of a Jack Russell and jumps straight up and down when he gets excited.  He has learned how to be a lab though, and loves swimming at the "tube", a culvert that has been turned into a waterslide/dog pool.
