    CHIGGERS

    went out on a trail with my horse this past week and just had our first experience with chiggers---NOT FUN---my mare is uncomfortable and irritable and of course i now have unwanted extra work but we are dealing with the situation---any suggestions on preventing this in the future?---i am sure someone out there has a few good ideas---HELP

    FH- that was very informative, thanks!  Who would put on flea collars and cattle ear tags?  That seems like a weird idea and kind of obvious that it wouldn't be safe.

    Good luck with your mare, poor girl must be very itchy.
