That is the sad thing, he was probably started as a long yearling. It's just the school of thought around here. I wouldn't do anything like that, I wait to start mid-summer of their second year, and start them easy. He's been shown at the world show as a two year old, in trail pleasure which is a lower division. Then they found he started moving out more as they rode him, and thus he's classic, though I have been told he may make a park pleasure horse. Unless you buy them young and start them yourself, it's nearly impossible to find them any differently.
I do like the chocolate horses, I was considering a very cute, very red mare to start under saddle and see if she'd step the same, but this guy just caught my eye. I may still invest in that little mare later on.
