My Equine Dentist just offered me this horse for free. she is looking for a good home for him she spent 1200 on him and will GIVE me him. 

I need your opinions on him please

If you have a need for a greenbroke pony sized quarter horse. Otherwise, I'd pass.

last time she taped him he was 14.2. He's only 3 years old so i'm sure he's got some more growing to be done.

i'm still at a toss up with what to do about him she says if i dont like him i can give him back to her. she's only getting rid of him becuase she's going back to texas to take some more equine dental classes and doesnt want to leave her mother with more then her one show horse to take care of this winter.

i'm 5 foot 5.

Holly the equine dentist is 6 feet and she rides him. he's stocky. so i dont think it will be to bad.

Yes both of my boys are getting up there, fantacy turned 29 this year and CB turned 20 this year so i'm looking for a younger horse. I'll still show CB though

 He has Impressive in his bloodline.  That would really worry me!  Make sure you have him tested for HYPP before you take him.  There could be another reason why she is giving him away free.

Other than that he is a decent looking horse.  And yes he should grow more before he finishes at 7.  Not really an english horse though are you planning on doing some western classes with him.

i forgot all about impressive... i'll ask her. but where do you see it in his bloodlines?? i looked but didnt see it. i'm looking at allbreedpedigree.com at his sire's side... mothers side doesnt go very far. how far back do you see it?

Also yes i plan on showing western him events i love them i just havnt had the horse.

 Its on the fathers side, Susie Impressive.  He goes back only once that I see but I still would be very wary.  I have a friend who had a horse that tested N/N and still died from HYPP.  When they did the autopsy they found out he didn't test for it but he had it.  It just scares me.

ETA you can tell he has Impressive blood from his long butt

 Well if that is the case he still has the long butt so it looks like he is bred for halter.  But if you just want a western horse to play with then I would look at him.  Has he ever been shown?

yes amber i just plan on local shows, a fair once a year (next years my last year) and maybe join the ranch horse association...

Time to buy a whole new wardrobe  Are you ready for some Bling Bling?  I love that you can be so fancy at western shows.

For what you are wanting, if he rides OK then I would take her up on the trial basis at least until she gets back.

the BO offered me a deal where i only have to pay gain and hay for him so only 125$ a month to keep him there since i already pay 550 a month for board for my other two.

Also she said that i can change my mind at anytime if i dont like him she will take him back i just have to trailer him to her moms place 45 minutes away. and i can drop him off

I actually already have western clothes too. i've got a flower pattern bligy shirt two pairs of chaps and a hat. i had to show cb western one year for versitility and showed a pal. western one year. so i;m set... i just need a leather saddle i only have a synthetic black one.

That sounds like a great deal all the way around!  I hope it works out perfect for you! 

Check out ebay for a saddle.  You can always take it to a leather shop and have them add conchos and fix little problems for you and it will be much cheaper than buying a show saddle. 

Thanks. i didnt hear back from holly today but she was busy with lots of floatings. she said that she could deliever him tonight if i got back to her right then but i had alot of figuring to do and that was before i knew anything about him

maybe it will happen tomorrow i'll be at the barn anyways... :)
