    Re: Yeah!! New Farm!!!

To all y'all who want to move to NC based on her pics:  go where she is, the middle of the state, or to the mountains!  I live in eastern NC, and it is soooo flat, the only 'hills' around here are from farm canal beds...and since I am making the switch to English, there are only approx. 2 other english horse/riders within a 15 or so mile radius of me, and prob around 100 horses or so in that area....My neighbor owns a rodeo so...Go to the rolling hills!

And Solo, looking at your pics again, I may go ahead and transfer to NC State and make the commute.  That is such a pretty place! Yes

LOL, crittergirl, you're right!  You at UNCW?  The piedmont is definitely the place to be.  I need hills and trees (and no snow!) to survive.  NCState is definitely horse central, what with the vet school and all.  I just wish they would stop breeding their fugly paint stud, gah, he's a nasty looking beast.

Geez, vm, sorry to hear about your friend's horse!  I can't say I love the hay new BO gets, it's fescue hay and it's stemmier than I like (considering at the old place we had GORGEOUS leafy oat hay, horsie crack).  But her horses don't eat much of it because her grass is so good and I know if I really wanted something more, she would not mind at all if I brough some extra hay of my own.

Nope, ECU, has both my majors (CJ and Psych) and let's me stay with my critters (of which I have too many!)  I almost changed last semester to do the whole vet school thing, but I am a junior double major so....it would set me back so much I wouldn't graduate from vet school till I was 40 lol!

That huge grass filled pasture is wonderful - Solo must be in heaven.  Everything looks very nice and I hope you will be happy there for a long time!

Thanks, and I hope so too, sh!  This pasture is a bit smaller than his old one, but there are less horses to share it with and more healthy grass, so yay!

Congrats!! It sounds like you'll be very happy there! It's sooo important that the BO is easy to get along with! I must admit that I an extreeemely jealous of the pasture, the lighted arena, no rocks and no mud!! Enjoy!Yes

Hahahha, amber, you should have seen the place I stayed at this weekend -- I am learning quickly that it pays to be friends with eventers -- they appear to all have money and are always open to sharing their amenities like lights and hot tubs and booze!

Wow, Solo must be all horsey smiles!  Big Smile  Barn owners and other boarders make all the difference in the world!  Where a couple of our horses are now, the BO is absolutely NUTS, but the trainer and other boarders are great.  Since the trainer maintains 85% of the barn, we are happy, as long as we dont' see the BO.

So happy for you and Solo!

Heaven would no heaven be, were a horse not waiting there for me.
