    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

You went to Basic? Me too! What branch were you in? I was skinny going in & lost more weight working out everyday. But I watched what I ate too. Im not a huge fan of health food, but I have found out that I LOVE humus & it comes in so many different flavor and its good for you. so when I get the munchies, Ill go grab some wheat things or reduced fat triscits & top them off with hummus. The roasted red pepper is my fav, it tastes like salsa

how is everyone doing? gonna make it through sunday? mine will be a challenge-even though i'm not doing any "extreme" dieting, we do have a rib roast and scalloped potatos that will be singing to me on sunday! voices of angels! steak and potatos are my "thing" so i could honestly eat the whole roast and pan of taters.

Good luck to you all! I'm not willing to give up my Chinese, my fried seafood, desserts or my nightly bowl of maple brown sugar shredded wheat cereal haha I think if I'd just be more active it would help me...a bit on the lazy side haha But the animals are helping with that now Grin

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Congrats! I've been tracking my calories, and although I'm not getting down to my goal of 1500 a day yet, I'm at least consistantly taking in less than I'm burning. So far I've lost a measly #1, so I'm not about to win any beauty pageants in the near future. But it is the right direction, eh? Laugh

And with all the chocolately treats that have been parading about lately, it's pretty amazing that I've simply kept myself from gaining through it all. Might have to splurge a bit on Sunday, though Wink

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Ive lost 5 lbs over the past 2 weeks. I think it too hard on a persons body to loose more than 2 - 3 pounds a week. I joined Curves & Ive been thinking about weight watchers too. But as long as I can keep up on the weight lose on my own, I might just forgo on weight watchers. Is anyone else doing weight watchers? If so, what do you think of it???

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

I am shrinking!!!! I am not sure how much I have truly lost since the end of November because I broke my scale shortly after I hit a 30lb weight loss. The new one I finally got, weighs me about 9 lbs lighter I think. I didn't think I had lost pounds but the pants I bought in November than fit just right are sliding down and bagging all over. If I have lost then Great! Otherwise my body/skin might be just shrinking to fit. (I am surprised since they say at my age I would have a harder time)
I am gonna have to go try on a new size soon just to see if I can!!

I am not worrying about Xmas. We have had so many sweets, meat and cheese trays etc. at work. I don't gorge on them but do have some all day long. I just try to eat sensible when I get home. It must be working. I have stayed the same for over a week now. After Sunday I am going to try and buckle down hard again.

Good luck to everyone. Keep up the good eating!

Hey gals! Sorry I have been gone for so long! Mom kinda put me on a restriction. Frown Umm. I haven't been doing so well but adding more excerise and trying to watch what I eat. Cleaned out all the stall which desperatly needed it Blush whoops! and did some other stuf and my biceps are KILLING me! Seriously I was flewing today and I have like guy sized arm muscles from all the work outside with having to carry water buckets and all!!
Well talk to you when I can!

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Not making it, but not blowing it completely either! I'm making cornish hens in the crockpot, garlic rosemary red potatoes, crescent rolls & peach-blueberry cobbler for dessert. That's just Christmas Eve. Sunday, it's a stop at my sister's with more cobbler (her request for a gift), then a stop at 2 grandparents-in-law's homes. I may stop in at my step-grandfather's new assisted-living home, but he's just moved in today and may not be up to visitors. It's a race against time across the state and not a very fun day. Makes me look forward to being single again (soon, I hope) and having only one place to go for Christmas.

Somehow I missed this part earlier, Doh! I think it got covered in a different thread, but I was in the Navy. Had myself a great time with the Naval Strike Aircraft Test Squadron, then got out and went to college. Gotta love the Wisconsin's 100% tuition reimbursement for returning veterans. Yay!

And I was 152 going into boot camp, and 152 coming out. Only a few pounds above that now, but I'm a lot fluffier Laugh

Not to mention after having my son, bits of me seem to flop or stick out in funny places. Ah well, such is life.

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Well, did everyone make it through Christmas fairly well? I decided to splurge and will pay for it. I gained 3 lbs. Not alot but I haven't been losing that fast lately so it may take hard work to be on track. I am going to get real strict from now on and hopefully see the pounds drop quicker again.

    Holding steady here!

I splurged a little on Christmas day, but I was really good the three days beforehand, and about average today, so I'm pretty safe. Still not going down in a hurry, but at least I manged to avoid adding anything. Yay!
