    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Thanks! Better to have your reins too long than hanging on his face, IMO.

I didn't have trouble finding my old jacket, but I tore the house apart to find my white breeches, ack! It was a schooling show, so I didn't really have to dress up, but since I didn't have any recent pictures of Gem, I thought it would be nice to have some more "formal" ones. And I got a "good turnout" comment, which was nice.

Hooray on the excercise, Peta. I haven't done anything formal, but I've been dashing about so much lately that I at least haven't gained any more weight. If I keep up with this horse show thing, I might even lose a bit more. It's funny, I'm not usually nervous at all while riding, but I'm a wreck and have trouble eating before a show. I think I'm mostly terrified that I'll get there and have forgotten something vitally important.

Also have trouble going out for a long trail ride if my belly's too full, it just feelt like a lump of food is sitting in my belly. That's when those slim-fast shakes are most useful for me.

And it was so sweet of you to say I didn't look like I needed to lose any more weight in the photo thread, Peta. I'm not too displeased with my weight now (though of course I'd be thrilled if I managed to lose a bit more) but I really don't want to weigh any more, and I'd like to have a bit more margin for error, so to speak. And anytime I stop paying attention to what I'm eating, the pounds just come shooting back on. So I'll be a active dieter for life, I suspect.

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Well I thought you looked rather snazzy!

I have lost 2 lbs since Sunday (official weigh day) which can only be good news as it's that time of the month where I normally weigh more! Hurrah! It's too hot to eat too much food right now, which also means it's too hot to ride. Henry spends his days hiding under a big clump of trees in his new pasture. MUST get some pics!

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Welcome! Tell us a little about yourself? I'm trying to lose weight for my wedding next summer. So far I lost 13lbs then managed to put 3 back on Frown but the ultimate first goal is to lose a total of 2 stone, so I'm almost halfway there. Then I'll reassess and see how I feel, before probably taking it further if I can!! Smirk

    Morning!
It is going to be a crappy weekend here this weekend, hasn't stopped raining since yesterday morning and the forecast is for all week...yuk! although we really need it!
Was hoping to go to spruce meadows (canadian version of hickstead) this weekend, but don't think we will venture in the rain, so don't know what I am going to do!!! maybe clean tack and I guess I don't have an excuse not to go to the gym!!
    have a great weekend everyone!

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Monday morning and a great start to the week. Woke to the hugest loudest thunder storm this morning - normally I would have got out of bed and watched it from the window. But today I got out of bed and went to the yard - have to put Henry's sun shield on every morning. It was amazing! The noises coming from the sky! But I managed to fall on my butt going down the slope to Henry - in my WORK trousers!! So now I have a muddy butt Angry

But I lost FOUR pounds this week!! Hurrah!! Grin Which basically means I am back to 191 after having had two very naughty weeks before this. This week I am off alcohol totally as have got a uni reunion at my place this weekend and need to save up the calories for that!

Had a good weekend - so very very hot. it got up to 31 degrees on Saturday so we tried to ride either early or late in the day. trouble is, the horse flies are now out with a vengeance. I have several bad bites on my arms and back from the little beasts Angry

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Hi there! Congrats on your awesome week with weight loss! that is fab!! Saving up the calories for a weekend of drinking, thats funny!! but I can imagine, especially if it is anything like Harper!! I miss not being able to have get togethers with my uni friends, they were all at a wedding last weekend which I missed. Frown, it is sometimes crappy living in a different country now.
I am at 135, so staying around the same, should be happy cause I ate a few mini choccy bars last week as it was my horrible week! so am ok with that! and I haven't been to the gym in ages! Rode on sunday, went for a long trot down the road, was planning to go quiet along way, but got as far as some sheep in a field and wolf wasn't impressed so we turned around and came back! It was funny cause he was doing lou snorts! and side trotting down the road! I decided not to face them cause I didn't need to end up on the ground on my own! (you can tell wolfy isn't an english horse cause he'd be used to sheep!)
Went to Spruce Meadows and saw some show jumping on saturday which was good, managed to have no rain. The only Brit there was Mark Armstrong, usually there is more. I wonder what they are upto? maybe preparing for the equestrian games??
We don't have many horse flies, lots of little black flies and mosquitoes, which bite, but haven't had too many bites yet. Can't beleive it is so hot in england! we need the rain we are getting here though. I am hoping it clears up by the weekend, cause I am going to a dressage schooling show.
    Anyway wow, I wrote lots!!

LOL Henry thinks sheep are horse eating monsters too sometimes Grin

Sounds like you have a good weekend! Not sure where all the brits were though. We haven't got any major comps here that I can think of... Going to Gatcombe in August, Blenheim and Burghley in September...

Good news though - I bought a horse box!! It's a 3/4 horse lorry that I have been begging off a friend for a while. We talked about it last night and sorted out that I will buy a 2/3 share in it. it'll live with me but if she needs it anytime, then it's ok. Can't WAIT! Can finally get Henry to some of the better competitions any time I like!! Wah hoo! Grin

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

I'm not sure about SJ competitions really, tend to follow the eventing world! It was Bramham 3 star the weekend just gone, Andrew Nicholson won.

Yeah, I am hoping to do lots of stuff with Henry this summer. Going to a Hunter Trial on July 15th, have already entered for that one. Got a sponsored ride in August - 10 miles and 28 fences, should be good! Hope the weather's nice though... I also really want to get to some evening dressage comps in the autumn, I think Henry would do ok.
