oh yes I have heard of emile. I wonder how come no carl? what about richard davidson? he was local to me. Maybe they are trying to get the up and coming riders?
Dress sounds nice, I had a quick run around the mall the other day and I hate shopping!! didn't really go for anything, just to look and didn't buy anything!! can't seem to justify it! I spend the money on the horses instead! but at least you will be able to wear the dress more than once!!

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Hi everyone - hope you all had a good weekend? My show yesterday got cancelled - we're in the midst of a heatwave here and I was going to withdraw Henry anyway, but apparently the ground was too hard for the cross country.

But had another awesome lesson on Saturday - I melted though. It was over 30 degrees - try working constantly in trot for an hour without breaking a sweat!! Poor Henry was knackered, but I'm sooo pleased with him, he was really really good.

Weight wise I am still the same - but I'm hoping that after saturday's lesson and another one this Thursday I might have lost a pound or two! We'll see...!

Sorry bout the show bein canceled. I kno what you mean by hot weather. Here in California we just got over a week long heat wave, and I think it's FINALLY starting to cool down a little bit.
My weigh-in day is Tuesdays now, so will update tomorrow

    Thanx SBWhisperer27!

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

That sucks that the show was cancelled....so no pics! I am disappointed!
We went to the show on saturday, didn't place, we were against some really good young dressage horses, came 7th in the harder, second test and the judge had some really good, encouraging comments, so I was pleased. As usual wolfy was a saint!! Even when I was on him and standing, he decided he needed to scratch his ear with his back foot, got his foot caught in the rein and luckily when he tried to pull his foot back it snapped the rein and he didn't really freak at all. and it didn't really wreck the reins, pulled the leather apart just by the buckle on the hole side so I can just put a new hole in!! It happened so fast but he was great!!
weight loss is boring....still the same weight! and been bad and had ice cream. Blush. Its been damn hot for the past two weeks. 28degrees today and expected to be higher, I hope it cools off for my big event this weekend.

I am SOOOOO jealous you are going to Alton Towers, I LOVE that place!!!!! So you are going to my neck of the woods!!! One of my best friends lives in Alton and I went to school in Uttoxeter!!!!!!
I need to go to england in teh summer just so I can go to AT as we always go at xmas and it is closed. I told my boyf about it and he wants to go now!!! We don't have anything really like that around where I live.
I am really enjoying going to shows to practice, can only make us better!!
Working hunter should be fun. The first time I ever took my old horse in england to a show, it was the last show of the season and we entered the WH and won the class so qualified for the championship at the same show, and won that class!!!! holy were some people p**ssed some that had been trying to qualify all summer!!! We won a big trophy, it was fab!!!

LOL that would be funny to win straight out like that!

I've only ever been to Alton Towers once, last year - that was my first ever time on a roller coaster! I was a bit nervous but looking forward to trying out more this time round! I'll wave at your mate when we get there!

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Well, I didn't weigh in last week, so in the last 2 weeks, I have lost...6 lb!!!
Don't know how I did it, but I did. So I'm doin ok so far.

Good job and good luck at all your shows. My horse has trailer-phobia, but we're working on it slowly. He will now get in the trailer and the other day he did a full circle inside the trailer. I'm so proud of him. Hoping to take him to his first show in September...there's a small county one then that would be good for a first show.

    Thanx SBWhisperer27!

Wow 6lb is excellent! Well done *happy dance*

Slow but steady is the best way to help your horse, sounds like you're doing it right. Can you feed him in there sometimes to make it a really positive experience? Henry will do anything for food LOL!

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

Oh ya, Rex LOVES his food. Everytime we practice my pockets are bulging with carrots, so he's figuring out the once he's in the trailer, he gets food and lots of pats and praise. He's doin really well. He gets this week off cuz my trainers on vaca, so I hope he remembers evrything come next week Smile

    Thanx SBWhisperer27!

The key to successful training is repetition, repetition, repetition! I bet he remembers although he might make you work slightly harder to begin with LOL!

    Re: Weight Loss Challenge

I think all I'll have to do is wave a carrot inside the trailer and he'll trot right in, lol Stick out tounge He does hav a very good memory, but unfortunately some of that memory is used for remembering bad experiences Confused My trainer says part of his fear is that he hurt himself in a trailer once. Also, I guess in the past no one ever took it nicely w/ him. When she bought him (5 years ago), she said the second he walked in the trailer, they tied him quickly and slammed the door Confused Can't really blame him for being scared. We had a huge brush fire sweep thru the county a few years back; the barn had to fully evacuate. Rex wouldn't go in the trailer; they said she had to walk him down the road instead Smile I'm really confident we can overcome his fear tho, he's been coming along so well Wink
