    Champion pacer and sire Artsplace dies at 18

    Sad day in the harness world. World Champion pacer and sire Artsplace was put down due to complications to laminitis.

    So sorry to hear about that. I've just started getting interested in SB's. My Dad just adopted one and he has been such a wonderful addition to the family. This is the second SB's he's owned, both from the Hanover line, both rescues, and I could never say enough good about the breed!!

    I've seen many of his kids race over the years. One of which won the Little Brown Jug in September.

    Alcatraz Hanover is the name of the guy my Dad just got. I looked around the web site for some info on him. We got a pic of him coming in by a nose Grin. Amazing how in such a short amount of time Tank <new name> has become such a great horse. His biggest fit-throwing was shaking his head the other day! Just so glad Dad has a buddy for a long time.

    Our other horse was Bitterleaf Hanover. We had her about 20 years ago, from the Humane Society. She was the best!!

    How did you get into SBs?
