    Re: Santa's Helper

    YAY!! Crimmus!!!

I think I would like some books... I dont even mind if they are "gently used". Books like:

101 Schooling Exercises by jaki Bell and Andrew Day

101 Jumping Exercises by Linda Allen

    Cavaletti by Klimke

or the Building Confidence over Fences book.

I ride English, and aspire to do combined training... and will possibly leasing a horse soon (fingers crossed... having a lesson with the trainer next week) so some books that I could use to "self school" would be great!

I live in Georgia, so while it doesnt get horribly cold, we do get pretty cold winters... so maybe a snuggly fleece or a warm long sleeved shirt to ride in? Any color is fine, but I favor lilac and purple. Size medium.

    Thanks!!!
    Amanda

    Re: Santa's Helper

    This is soooo fun!!!
    Let's see...
Solana's color is sage or purple, she's my chesnut appendix quarter mare.
Jericho' color is black, she's a BIG draft x.
Ruby, (my new baby t-bred, actually yearling!) doesn't really have a color, she's bay with black points. I guess she can be red. I need to post pics of her yet.
Anything horsey is good, my house is somewhat confused in it's decor... Western decor or cabinish, (is that a word?) is ok! I ride English, hunters, so that may help someone to decide what to get me, I CAN'T wait to find out who I'm going to get, it's my most fun gift to buy for Christmas!
Merry Early Christmas!! I also like horsey tshirts, XL sized (wish I could type small here!) Linda O Blush

    Re: Santa's Helper

This is my first time doing this exchange, so I'm looking forward to it!

I don't have a horse, so no barn colors, horse needs, etc. I'd actually love something dog- or other-related! Like a Petsmart gift card (I have a greyhound), AMC Theatres movie gift card (I LOVE movies!!), etc.

I like those riding clothes that are kind of "street wear" too... tops/vests with the pleats that are more fitted, etc. (I'm usually a M, sometimes a L). I have to admit that I don't really like shirts with big horse prints on them (I got too many of those from relatives growing up!).

I also *love* anything consumable, like food mixes!

But whatever I receive will be appreciated!!

Hi Smile This is the 1st time that I'm doing this. It really does sound like fun though!

    Ok my hints...
I have a 3 yr old bay gelding appy named Sahdow. His barn colors are lime green and black. I love really baggy t-shirts and sweatshirts so I always get XLs. What else... I ride western, but I am planning on trying english this spring. I love lotions, but I can't use raspberry lotions, I'm allergic. I love candles and basically anything horsey or things that has a western feel. This is going to be so much fun!

This is my first year to participate in this. "Hints" for my Secret Santa: anything horse related Grin, books are always nice, notepads, rustic picture frames, photo albums, stationery - just your average stuff. This will be neat - I can't wait to get started with my own shopping Wink DND

    Re: Santa's Helper

    Thought of other things!

Forgot to add that I'm 27 so would not like a T-shirt/sweater with a big horse print on it.

I love riding jackets/vests! I'm always having to wear layers to stay warm.
Winter riding gloves and/or mittens would be good. I'd probably take a small (I take small in the Mountain Horse crocheted gloves)
A nice show sheet for Bennett for next year's show season (size 76") either black or burgundy.
A slinky would be good. Either burgundy or black. Bennett's 15.1HH. She has burgundy shipping boots so would like to keep her somewhat color coordinated!
A fitted cooler would also be nice to keep her warm during winter after a ride (any color).
    Grooming brushes,
grooming supplies (especially detanglers for her thick-dragging-on-the-ground tail!)
    horse-y treats.

Oh this is fun! I can't wait to start shopping!

    Re: Santa's Helper

    Here goes,
One horse 17 year old Breeding Stock she's black, her color is purple.
Im 23, she's my first horse.
    I ride western.
Would love to have the Oster finishing bruch, (softest one with the black bristles)
any horsy decor items especially the Painted Ponies, I only have the one with snowflakes on her.
    Trail Riding first aid kit
Horse shirts or Sweat Shirts, XXL or XXXL, I like them big, and I'm big enough too Stick out tounge
horse themed tall socks should fit a womans size 10 shoe, (tall enough for lacers or cowboy boots)
Any thing horse related is fine, but I do have enough Halters. Wink
    Dislikes:
Scented hand lotions, and really super smelly candles.

    Can't wait to get started!

    Re: Santa's Helper

I like Green Blue and Brown not bright colors, navy blue hunter green or similiar shades. My initials that I use on everything are MJ with the J attached to the end of the M, like a brand. I have a bay running QH named Cowboy, and a red/white paint mare named Shyanne. Its cold here in Wyo Smile so riding gloves or a warm hat would be nice and I LOVE sox!!! I really want Centered Riding if you had an old copy laying around. But I dont really care I just want to know who I have so I can start SHOPPING!

    Re: Santa's Helper

Well, I love recieving horse treats and horse brushes/grooming products for xmas! They are so fun! My horse's colors are hunter green/tan(gold).He wears a large halter. My horse's favorite treats are peppermint Red Barn Horse treats, or Mrs. Pastures. What I would love to get for xmas is a bucket with grooming products/treats in it. I just got my horse last week and he really needs his own grooming kit! His name is Bronzed Hobby, I call him Bronzy. He is a 16.2hh buckskin appendix quarter horse. I am taking lessons right now and I plan on showing him in the hunt seat equitation class and maybe hunter under saddle. I love him to death!
Rodeos and horse shows aren't hobbies or sports, it's a way of life!
Ain't nothin better than a dream vacation filled with dirt, pastures, and a barn full of horses!

    i love this.... Grin
its so true...and i happen to work in a tack shop. so i might bable to get things that are normally more than $25 for that much. Cool (so if ur in canada let it be known what you are looking for Stick out tounge)

anyways, i just thought i would add that most of my stuff is black and red. sometimes with white trim or sometimes i substitute navy for black bc its really hard to find black and red together i find.
um, i dont really need or want anything so as long as i dont get pack(s) of gum or rocks then ill be happy. mostly its just knowing that i can make someone else smile with at suprise.
    cheers,
    mak

    Re: Santa's Helper

    Here's mine.

I'm pretty easy to please. My interests are English riding/dressage and draft horses. So I would welcome anything with that sort of decoration -- t-shirt (small), or sweatshirt (small).

Or Christmas decorations/pierced earrings with a horsey theme.

Favorite colors are misty blues and greens but pink is good too.

Happy to get whatever I receive Smile
