Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
hey Sea Horse, check it out. There's a new member going by(got any guesses,) Sea Horse19! Could this be the new and improved model, or your Alter Ego or "Split personality"(already of a very complicated machine,) demanding more time on line, thus deciding to answer your posts? Is this family who are rallying to the side of all "SeaHorses" nationwide?
....enlighten us...rr

Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
Glad you asked, rr - and you know I always tell the truth - so please, let's consider the possibilities -
yes, possibly the younger me, but can't improve on perfection - and you all well know I am perfect!!
family?? - highly doubtful as you all know I am one of a kind.
demanding more attention? - my days seem to be full of just the right amount of attention from just the right people (you all) - how could I ever fit in more?
a creation of my imagination? - more likely a creation of your imagination as you have gone looking for other attractive creatures to add to the little group who love to play here.
another possibility of my imagination - I seem to have plenty of imagination as it is without making up a clone.
So I think the obvious answer and enlightenment is that someone is highly jealous, not to mention respectful of my wonderous and awesome personality and is trying, ever so unsuccessfully, to imitate the REAL THING!!!
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but in this case there isn't a chance of anyone coming close. No one can hold a candle to me - how did you not know that already? Do I need to be disappointed you even asked,rr?? (Notice it was YOU who asked and NOT the sisterhood)
At least you can say you know the REAL SeaHorse!!!
Are you enlightened now, rr, or shall I go on???
When I count my blessings, I count my horse twice!

Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
I want to thank you all for your kind thoughts today. They really mean a lot to me. I am home with a splitting headache that doesn't even want me going to see Bailey and June Bug. I'm mostly numb today, but it is hard to grasp that I've gone from a herd of 4 horses to 2 in just under 2 years.
Please, carry on with the usual serious silliness. It really helps when I laugh!

Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
Yes, but when will we know if it's really you? Hey, and what is this, me going looking for other younger beautiful members, croc?
You mean me trying to reel back into the womb, "Mindy", Marianne, and Cat(Lovely Wendy has checked in. Hi Wendy.) Well why not, for christ's sake, these 20 and 30 year old women have become like children to me(if you believe this, you'll believe the weapons of mass destruction theory, Santa Claus and chocolate ice cream doesn't make you fat.)
BUT WHO CARES! IF IT PISSES YOU OFF SEA HORSE 22,23, OR 19,...YOU JUST MADE MY DAY. I have been trying to get men to join this thread for months...You Sea Horse and your Merry Women(girls in black,) scare them all away!
I want to talk about Fly Fishing not ice Fishing and it takes REAL MEN(but if I can't have REAL MEN, girls in their 20's and 30's will just have to suffice!)

Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
Poor Jo - it is rough isn't it?? Both Will's passing and the resultant headache and loss of sleep? I cried for months after Mercedes died - and I couldn't do it in front of DD b/c that would start her and - maybe you can cry more if you are alone, though it doesn't really help - but you have to do something. Even now things trigger memories and the tears start all over. But you know, even when Mercedes died so young and unexpectedly and quickly - I would not have changed anything about owning her - or her death. We would have still chosen her from among all the horses we looked at even knowing how short a time we would have her - I promised my DD that she would be our "forever horse" and indeed she was - just many, many, many years shorter than we hoped and anticipated.
And look at you - having had Will for so many wonderful years and buying him twice even when it was such a sacrifice. You should be so darn proud of yourself - you did a wonderful thing for him. I'm only sorry you couldn't be there with him - though I think he is with you now, if only in your thoughts. All things die or pass out of our immediate presence, but we never lose the memory of those people, things and places we love the most. I'm positive that Will is in a high place on the top of your list and that you will have many wonderful memories of him. Do you have pictures of him with you??
In time you will go see Bailey and June Bug - and then you will cry some more - somedays life is a veil of tears. On the other hand - hug your horses while you have them - they leave us so soon!!!
OK - let's be silly - you pick the topic - or who knows what I will come up with - I have wrecked havoc and startled people before...... Muwahahahha!!
Come play with us again soon - we could set aside time for silliness with you.
When I count my blessings, I count my horse twice!

Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
Was thinking of Sir William and the relationship spanning 34 years. That's quite a long time to love an animal. There was a very good book when I was in high school, it might have been the photo and poetry book, produced in San Francisco, "On the Loose," or perhaps another. There was an old American Indian saying that I have never forgotten, and I think it probably could apply to a horse like Sir William...
"When the legends die The dreams end When the dreams end ...There is no more greatness"
The legends and stories of our horses should always be told. This way, like loved ones, they never really leave us, and their greatness lives on, till we, in turn, join them, leaving someone to sing our song, and so it must be.
And I believe so it has always been....for the 3,000years that this being has made us dream, and laugh, and cry, and go beyond ourselves...until we can join them and complete the endless circle...We'll tell the tales of our fallen mounts...
To Sir William...

Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
OH NO!!! I missed this post!!! Oh good - let's play some more and see if we can entertain poor Jo. Yes I was referring to your friendly overtures rr and the fact that you always like to bring in new people and are so welcoming to them. It is a pleasure to watch you greet new folks and ask after them when they are missing. I don't think I am pissed off - are you terribly disappointed?? - if so try harder and maybe you could do. And I am not wearing black (you called us the band of merry widows?? The ladies in black???) just now - in fact I have been out on the town and am quite well attired in a dress (siren red) and heels though I have to change soon for the barn - love my cowgirl duds best! AND IF WE CAN FLY FISH OUT WEST i 'LL GO AND YoU CAN TALK ABOUT IT!! aCLEAR MOUNTAIN STREAM - WIDE, FAST, DEEP (oops), lots of trout in the pools, trees and banks wide vistas - I'm there. Did I ever mention I love the rivers out west - esp the ones Lewis and Clark journeyed. Fly fishing sounds great - haven't ever done it - think I would enjoy ocean fishing too!! I really must get more vacation time and do some of these things!!! I should have told you - there is a new man on the forum - Florida horse or something - I'll send him a PM right now and introduce myself and invite him to the merry group. Thanks for the idea - you know I would do anything to make you happy - or was it 'your wish is my command'?? Whatever - BRB

Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
Here is a funny poem to help make you laugh. You can all contemplate the meaning...
The Lord And His Horse
the multitude of seekers of wisdom and salvation
the wise lord on his loyal horse
the lord had no voice the horse farted
the silence of the lord it was not understood
the sound of the horse it was understood
the lord left so did his horse
the multitude of seekers of wisdom and salvation
they scattered they went home

Re: Tools, Machines and Politics
Thank you, RR. That really is a lovely saying!
Will & I didn't meet until he was 10 & I was 13, but 24 years is still a very big portion of both our lives. I can only hope to have Bailey and June Bug so long.
