    Re: word play

Thanks for asking... Things are looking pretty normal now. The scars on my eyelids are still visible. I'm getting that addressed after I come back from Vegas. The doctor wants the steroid shots (or whatever they were) to have 4 to six weeks to work and then we'll re-evaluate.

    Re: word play

Good to hear Luce - my OH was having steroid shots in a scar on his chest from a skin cancer removal, and sad to say they dont make much difference, so I hope yours are ok! I have a scar over one of my eyes where I hit the dirt once face first from a big TB I was training, vertical, for no reason we were just walking along on a loose rein, needless to say I had no hope!

Hey FHM : I thought the same thing about the Que Sa Whatever, maybe you are right about Tonto, maybe he just was p*ssed at having to ride with no saddle all the time!

rr get that wood fire burning, nothing like a wood fired pizza, those frozen ones sure get chewy after a while, and listen up I had a great ride last night, we worked on the collected canter, man thats hard work, to keep the jump, cadence, forward and shorten the frame all at the same time is tough, its such a huge leap from level 3 to level 4 Wink

Emergency this morning at 3am, something I didnt really need seeings as I was riding till nearly 8pm - pooch kept going off at something and you know how it is at that time of the morning "Shaaaaaadup!" well finally I could hear what she was going off about, cracking glass, what the......so had to go investigate........aaaaaagh! the aquarium all 6foot by 2 foot of it has decided to throw in the towel, the glass is breaking away, all I could think of was my poor fish, not the thousands of gallons of water that would flood through the house, oh well, fortunately OH is a quck thinker, we syphoned off half the tank and the glass stopped bowing, the fish are swimmimg in shallow water but at least we can think about a fix now, I would have been pretty miffed to come home from work to find my precious babies on the floor dead and water flooding out of the front door!!!!

Well, its Friday wahoo! the weekend is here AGAIN! love it, have a great day everyone, ciou for now! Grin

AMM - You are so CALM about everything! I'm not sure I would keep my cool if my aquarium bust out all over the place - I will remember your DH's quick fix if it ever comes up here! Poor fishes! - Marine right? That just complicates it more!

I have found fish to be a bit like horses in that they always surprise with their fragility and then with their hardiness at the same time.

I have heard that leap from 3 to 4 is a biggie - I wonder if I will ever get there in my lifetime???? Smile Smile

Did you see that other dressage related thread in General the other day? - I wonder where. . ." - I thought I was going to get myself in trouble - but apparently no one wanted to touch that thread with an optical mouse much less a keyboard. Confused

    Re: word play

Hello AMM, That could have been a major catastrophe! Think of all your electrics, wall sockets, wood floors(if you have them,) wow...

Well, sounds like fun, but certainly over my head, your dressage training. You and SeeStarz seem to be the "pretty ones" on our thread(don't count Dressage Dude.) I love the beauty of dressage. Should have told me something about Dominique. Once when we had just started seeing each other, there was an international dressage competition on a television in a cafe near the Champs Elysee, in Paris. I wanted to take a coffee and sit and watch...she got bored after 2minutes and wanted to go shopping...Next time I'll listen to my better instincts...

take care...phone's ringing(it must be Dom, her ears were burning...) Cool..rr

    Re: word play

Oh, that's kind of a bummer to hear. I'm supposed to get the steroid shots in the lower part of my abdominal scar, since the scar tissue is getting a little out of control. Shots there seem bad enough, but in the eyelid? Yeeooooouch!

AMM - fourth level? How fun! That's when you know you're good. Hope the fishes are surviving. Do you have to get a new tank, or can the old one be repaired at all? Sounds like a new one is in order. My dog alarms went off this morning, but I knew, just by taking one deep breath, what they were barking about. SKUNK! We have reinforced the chicken pen, so the little devils can't get in, but that does nothing about the stench.

    Have a great weekend!

Well, I guess we know what you will be doing this weekend AMM! Emergency fish repair. I have a smaller 75 gal marine tank, it is one piece of acrylic, the filtration is all built in. I love it, it is really easy to take care of. Just something to check into if you have to replace the whole thing. Jusy be glad the dog was alert!
RR, I am making jambalaya tonight. But I love pasta, what's your recipe(s)? I'm always looking for something new.
FH, if Tonto WAS saying Que? No sabe. Then the whole time he was with the Lone Ranger, he never understood what was going on? and the Lone Ranger kept on talking...
Well, everyone have a great evening, watch those skunks!

Lucy, try Vit. E oil, or a cream with a lot of Vit. E in it. Does wonders for scars!!! The oil is kind of expensive, but you don't use much... so it isn't really all that expensive...as in it last a long time.

    Re: word play

I'm not too worried about whether or not the shots work. I went back to my tummy-tuck doctor for a 2nd opinion. He said they could be fixed surgically, no problem, but he'd rather see if the shots help first. They supposedly soften the scar tissue, and it has made a difference. I didn't want anymore cutting until after I get back from Vegas.

Oh... I got ahead of myself... I meant to say.... don't emergencies always seem to happen when you have the least amount of time to deal with them? Glad you all were home though.

Ouch is right! The nurse let me squeeze her poor hands, and I got big ole aligator tears in my eyes! But... I'd had my eyeliner tattoed on, and that wasn't exactly a walk in the park either...lol!

Thanks for the advice. I'll buy some vitamin e and try it... couldn't hurt!

    Re: word play

good thinking DG - if the liquid Vit E is expensive try buying the gel tabs, then burst them open on the scar tissue, works wonders, I do it for the neds if the get a small cut now and again!

Dont know what we will do with the fish tank at this stage it needs some major repairs, so I guess we will just move the fishies to a small tank we have and go from there, down like the sound of splintering glass very much thats for sure! Blush

oh rr - how nice of you to think of me as a pretty rider - you know there is something awesome about be able to get your horse to sit back on his hocks to produce so much power that you can see his knees up in front of his nose as he makes the transition to canter from walk and to be able to sqeeze him together to make him faster, slower and faster again, its just AWESOME!!!

So what was the post that no one would touch with a ten foot barge pole - must have missed that one !

    Re: word play

Morning. For whatever reason my computer is working after a few days of 'weirdness.' Thanks again to SEESTARZ for turning me to FireFox(that too was kind of dodgy for a bit...)

Yes, AMM, every once and a while, Helen(Simon's wife,) lets me sit on her 'dressage' horse for a session...AWESOME!!!! Horses this well trained(I think it was a European Champion before she bought it,) are SO delicate when applying aids... It always takes me a good 10 minutes just to 'confirm' by sorry position(now only riding once a week, I am pitiful, I am afraid...)and start enjoying the horse...

And, with animals of this caliber it's really down to millimeters! Finding leg position is something too...Oh well. Maybe if I still have some strength and money left(or even a job, that would be nice,) when I get this place finished, I'll be able to practice this sport with a little more seriousness...I really miss it...

This being said I must get going and try to get a few more things done today...Family from America coming next week...

    oh brother...rr

Almost forgot; Lucy I FEEL FOR YOU when you describe what you're going through...Is this all necessary? What are a few wrinkles? Knowing you they must be beautiful 'laugh lines.'

Dominique is talking about it already at 45 and I am totally against it(at least if she thought she needed to do it for me, that is.) I would prefer that she showed a little more enthusiasm with regard to horses(might even let her gain a pound or two in the exchange Stick out tounge)

Take Care Spring's coming! Think about those Bikinis!!!

(...and don't forget, I am the 'knot' judge).. Cool..rr
