Re: BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN GAL! - Friday Funny
TX - where you been? I've missed seeing you around. So stop your dang loitering and chime in here!! Well DD at least you are taking lessons - I have only been riding for 2 years also but am boarding 3 horses (how did that come up so fast?) so am not willing to afford lessons on top of that. I get tired of the trade off sometimes but whatever floats your boat....

rr, you are so BRAVE After the day you had yesterday I'm surprised that you even got out of bed today AMM, I also saw that story quite awhile back (I think it was making the rounds just after the movie came out). It was kind of a double whammy when I first saw it - first, because the person who sent it was what you might call 'very prim & proper', so what was working up to be a very risqué joke, seemed quite out of character - and of course, second, the great punch line Had a good laugh even the second time round Well, we're getting some much needed rain this morning, but unfortunately, the long range forecast for next week shows a lot more rain - we don't WANT it next week - had plans to make hay - guess that just proves one can't make plans without consulting Mother Nature (geesh, she's a tough boss )

Semi-caught up on this thread??? You must be joking!! If you don't keep up it is like being run over by a semi! And just why are you letting work take up so much of your time - surely you have better things to do?? Darn - there's that back and forth banter thing again. Maybe I will go do something productive!!

Re: BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN GAL! - Friday Funny
Hey DD, I started riding at 40(not that I am any good at it.) You're still a young man at 40(here, I am sounding like SeaHorse.) Well, we had a horrible rehearsal in the village this evening. With yesterdays ACCIDENTSSSSS, we totally forgot the PARENT-TEACHER end of year conference this afternoon. I am at the theatre, my cell phone rings(normally turned off when working,) and it's 6pm and William and his teacher have been waiting for Dominique for 45minuets...(oops) I run over to his private school filthy from a day's work(which they put up with in our theatre group,) His teachers politely looks at me sideways and then LOWERS THE BOOM! Imagine me getting chewed out(at 54,) by a second grade teacher...I return, with William to the theatre and everyone was just finishing(giving me LOTS of atitude,) and that's how today ended(barring the 747...) Will this week NEVER END...rr

You're right! When it rains it POURS, and one never knows when it's going to stop....When in a big Rut, make a graditude list.... I worked(pleasantly,) all day in my wood shop(before rehearsal,) and I still have all my fingers. Only had 2 arguments with Dominique(we work SO well together,) and the dog has stopped chasing the horses(because I shot his ass.) I am going to try to do a little reading, without hurting myself, and go to bed....rr

Re: BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN GAL! - Friday Funny
Its amazing how jokes do the rounds - OF THE WORLD! bit like the freestyle Video, I had seen that a year or so ago and have it saved to my favourites! RR I know what you mean about it never rains it pours, look at the crap week I had a couple or so ago, say no more! I am off to local club today to train with A level judge on how to ride an accurate test, but its raining, we are in the middle of the worse drought in living history, and today it decides to rain - good on ya! AND ITS COLD! Still it wont stop me going down just have to put an extra jacket on! Hey theres nothing wrong with learning to ride at 40, life begins at 40! As I fast approach 50, which I am in total denail about by the way, I figure I can still ride and compete till I'm about 60 or so, that will make the boy about 19 or 20 , and at the peak of his career, so we should be doing Grand Prix by then hahahah! I have been riding since I was about 3 or so, took a break to have the children and move around with DH when he was in the army, but once we were settled again, back straight into riding again! It gets into the blood and you can't get it out! Must be because I'm a Sagitarrian, half horse anyway! Ok I have to go and get the boy ready now and head off so chat soon - comp tomorrow so will catch up afterwards! Ciou for now! Ange

rr... I'm disappointed in you... letting yourself be chewed out by a teacher! I must have had awful experiences in grammar school that I've buried because whenever I've had to go back to one, either for my kids or professionally, that smell.... (kind of a crayon smell?) just gives me the creeps...

The Life Begins At Forty Club!
I decided to rename or thread, for the moment! Seems like a lot of us on here didn't get seriously into horses until our 40's. Heck... lots of us couldn't afford them or have the time for them earlier...
It's ~still~ raining here, on and off. The misquitos are terrible, and I'm barely hanging on to a pleasant mood. I need SUNSHINE!

Re: The Life Begins At Forty Club!
I like the new name but maybe you could put a + sign after the forty I got back into horses at 43 (after more than 25 years away - definitely a NOT enough time or opportunity thing - having kids, going back to school, life in general ) AND then bought my first horse at 51 (only then did I have MY OWN money + time ). So, yeah you're right - life does begin at forty AND fifty AND sixty ...... We had some much needed rain this morning - not enough really but Mother Nature never seems to get it right - either too much all at once OR overly long periods without ... bet it rains all next week though ...that's when we want to cut the hay .
