Re: thread going to the dogs...
Thanks guys!!! They are both turning into fine horseman!! It's hilarous to listen to Bill having a discussion with Journey. Journey has figured out the showmanship thing where the human goes back and forth. If Bill misses swapping sides Journey nudges him.

Re: thread going to the dogs...
Ahahaha Gailforce - nice switheroo - the kids are no longer little and mostly don't live here (even if they keep their stuff here) so the dog duty falls to me...so I don't need to get rid of the kids. If you see what I mean.... And there is always one who wants cats, rr.....leave it to you! :)

Re: thread going to the dogs...
You're not the only one with cats rr -- the summer before last Eric and I took in a stray cat and her four kittens. This was in addition to the 7 cats we already had. So now we have 12 -- all indoor cats. The original seven come when called and seem more like dogs in that respect. They all take turns in who cuddles up next to us on the sofa, or in bed. The kittens (well, not kittens any longer) are a joy and I'm really glad we took them in, even if it does mean we have a house full.

But ours are OUTDOORS, in the barn, hiding under cars and crawling through hedges...Only gypsy fortune tellers have that many INDOOR cats Jayne! You may be hiding a dark side? ...rr

Hmmm, I may have a dark side but no, not a gypsy fortune teller. Didn't mean to end up with this many cats, it just sorta happened.

What about chickens??? They make GREAT pets. :) Am I the only one who's got twenty chickens for pets? Sorry I don't have a question about dogs, Jayne, but I've never had one. Just cats, bugs of all kinds, chickens, and horses. -GC

...And one can eat them too...No kidding, my next project is to build a large chicken coop and hen house. The way things are going here in Europe we might be living off the land very soon...Anyone have any recipes for huge carp? We have loads of them in our pond. Never would eat a carp otherwise, but WOULD eat carp before cat... ...rr

My chickens are too nice to eat-I like them all! Except for maybe one of the Rhode Island Reds named Gertie, she's kind of mean. Other than that I don't think any of the chickens are going 'bye-bye' anytime soon. Once the chicken's got a name, they're staying. And they ALL have names. :)

journeygirl:Here you go GC
Aww so cute! Horses and chickens! Doesn't get much better than that. What kind of chicken is that? Looks like a Orphington. I've got Rhode Island Reds, Barred Plymouth Rocks, Black Stars, Golden Sessas, Black Sessas, and Ameracanas. Thanks for sharing the pictures with me journeygirl! :)
