    New puppy needs a name

well, its me again reporting in. I bought a new house and am getting all settled in. I just got the internet again.
Seems like I've missed so much on here. Being gone to the Army and then not having the internet because I moved. Anyways, I got a new puppy and she needs a name. She is a chocolate lab. I dont mind a boyish name either. But, please nothing color related... like cocoa or hershey. I would post pictures put this is my laptop and I dont have my camera programed to it yet and my desktop is in the garage not set up yet. So I can't post them today. Just thought maybe you all could throw out some names and maybe one will fit her. 2 suggestions have been Tucker because she is tuckered out all the time and Sadie because she has the prettiest green sad eyes. She is a very very good pup not too hyper. I would really like something original.

I used to have a small brindle mixed breed named Sadie Smile

I've learned over the years that dogs, like horses really do live up to their name sake. Soo pick carefully Smile
For my german shepard I wanted something gentle, earthy, not too common and came up with a few then chose the one I liked best, Raine Smile She loves the water.. Mud, rain, all of it.. But she is very gentle and nurturing. Smile
My rott, her name is Shadow, and she litterally does hide in the shadows Frown

For your girl, being she's laid back and sweet with pretty green eyes, I'd go with something that's calming.

Our two favorite dog names are:
    Jenda (means lover of people)
    Loki (Norse god of mischief).

Former beloved dogs, you are welcome to use the names if either of them works for your new one. Laugh

    Waiting for pics.....

Re: New puppy needs a name

Probably two of my favorite dog names are Isa and Ina. (Rhyme with Lisa and Tina - or would otherwise be pronounced as you see them if you remove the L and T respectively.)

I have yet to personally know two other females with those names.

    Other unique names...

    Chen
    Froli
    Fenja or Fenya (Pronounced Fen-yah)
Prada (as in high fashion - prah-dah)
    Hexe
    Etch
    Espen
    Janka (yon-ka)
    Fae
    Fee
    Gita (Gee-tah)
    Gaea (Gay-ah)
    Gambol
    Uschi (ooh-she)
    Gremlin (Gremmie for short)
    Jazz
    Devotion (Devo)
    Echo or Ecco
    Jerran
    Lisl (Lee-sill)
    Leisel (Leez-el)

Whew...I better stop. I'm just getting warmed up! Grin

How cute! I have a black lab. Here are some names I like:

Gracie (I was going to name my lab that!)
    Lucy
    Mickey? (It could be cute...)
    Cassie
    Katy
    Lily
    Charlie

I also like Sadie. My friend has a chocolate lab named Sadie, and it fits them really well.

Re: New puppy needs a name

We keep choosing names from our favorite movies or stories. Aragorn, Merry, Pippen, Sam (Lord of the Rings) Ringo (Tombstone), Hector (Troy). Also initials, because that's my name (KC), PC, CJ. Pedigree: Missy (Ima Kool Miss Peppy) and Dixie, (Dixie Starfire); Family names: "Panzer" Von Hallen's Panzer. My son is into weather: Storm, Fog, Cloud, Thunder (somebody also said Raine). My chickens are Chili and Pepper, Heckle and Jeckle, Elizabeth, Sarah and Joan, Snow and Coconut, and Rooster Cogburn. I think names should show dignity as well as personality. Live with her a bit and then you will know her name. Favorite actress? (Julia, Meryl). Politics? Condi, Pelosi? Biblical: Hannah, Orpah, Tamar....
Decide what's important or fun to you and brainstorm. We've now started on dances: Tango, and may go on to Salsa and Ballet.

Let us know your final decision!

Re: New puppy needs a name

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I was driving through town the other day and saw the signs that say the local people in the military and saw one that said Bobby Joe and the name Joey popped to my head. So now her name is Joey. It seems to fit and she seems to understand that IS her!!!

    Thanks all
