Looking for a particular hoof dressing...

Back in the late '80s to early '90s I used a hoof dressing which was made in Germany. It came in a metal can with a pry-off lid and the label was white with (I think) blue type. I believe the name started with a Z. I lived in southeastern PA at the time. Has anyone heard of this and know the name? Is it still made? I remember it was probably the best hoof dressing I ever used! If anyonw knows what it is/was, thanks in advance!

I Googled "German Hoof Dressing" and got a bunch of hits; even one with pictures of a product in a white with blue plastic container.

You might get lucky and recognize the product by description.

If it were a U.S. product, I'd say your chances of finding it are Slim and None, since anything that old would likely have some ingredient in it that is deemed "bad for human consumption" and gets taken off the market.

Hope you find what you're looking for:)

The best one I used to like was Corncrescine - it came in a metal tin with a pry off lid and was a black goop with a very strong aniseed smell.  You can get it over here now too.  I love it -- makes my nails and the horses' hooves grow nice and strong.

The only thing I can find that matches your description is Hydrophane.  All of their products come in white and blue containters:

Labels will change over time. I used to have some of this stuff. Its like a green/hard goop and has a medicated smell to it.

Unfortunately, this is all too true!
