Wow, Bennett looks a LOT like Cisco in the winter (not so much in the summer, but in the winter she looks almost like him).

Cisco is a tad darker in the summer, but his dapples are VERY prominant year round. His face is more white in the winter (his blaze is hidden in the winter, you can see it in the summer).

Apaches is smooth and sleek in the summer with a hint of dapples and he turns into a fuzzball in the winter (no dapples to be seen, but he has a VERY rich color in the winter). His chin turns from pink to white and his legs get some gorgeous LONG feathers on them in the winter.

Here he is in the winter

I don't have any pictures, but my strawberry roan mare almost turns white in the winter.  Each winter she gets whiter and then becomes a roan again in the spring.

PaintNPasoQH, isn't it amazing how white the faces get? I laugh everytime Bennett is facing away from me and then looks my way. I almost have to wear sunglasses to counteract how white her face is! Lol!
I agree that she looks an awful lot like Cisco in her winter garb. I'm always surprized to see her dapples come out more over the winter. I guess I'm just so used to seeing fleebitten greys turn white over the winter so I just assumed she'd do the same!

Apaches looks so comfy in laying on his hay bed! Sooo cute.

AshtonGal, Yes it is amazing. All I ever knew with Cisco when I first got him was his white face because I got him at the end of November '05, so I'm VERY used to it, lol! It wasn't until he shed out for the summer many months later that I knew what he looked like in the summer Stick out tongue The first thing I remember about him when I went to see him the first time was his white face and gorgeous dapples (even in that fuzzy winter coat). I think it's amazing how much Bennett looks like Cisco in the winter. You'd never mistake her for looking like him in the summer, but in her winter garb you could almost say they look like twins!

I LOVE that photo of Apaches. I took that last winter (probably January?) and it's still one of my favorite photos of him. He's soo cozy and warm looking in that photo. Sleeping peacefully. It's soo adorable Big Smile

i don't have pics on this computer, but my mini does the same 180 degree turnaround as cheyaut's do. she's a really cute dark sorrel covered in dapples in the summer and in the winter...let's just say she turns into a little fuzz ball! the others look different too, but Brandy does the biggest change =D

Re: HOW DIFFERENT DOES YOUR HORSE LOOK IN THE WINTER?!

I am new to the site and not sure how to post pics?

My horse changes a lot and it's really neat to see. Summer she is more a dun/bucksin, winter she is gray/brown and much darker.

LOL!!!! You should see them now... not only do most have fuzzy faces (I usually keep their heads shaved, but haven't this year except those I showed a couple months ago... and now they're FILTHY covered in mud, it's been raining for about a week and a half now, and there is MUD everywhere, ESPECIALLY on the horses ;)
