In my mind Ashen is beautiful, but others may have other opinions.

Ashen's gentle demeanor, even among young children; and her intelligence are just as important to me.

Let me know what you decide about the arabian you are looking at.

And remember, your horse does not have to suit anybody but yourself.  You are looking for a life companion and friend you will be happy with.

I like to think Ashen chose me as much as I chose her.

    Re: Arabian

If this Arab was used as a lesson horse, he/she must be pretty level headed and calm.  The liability for a riding instructor using a horse that was not easy to control would be HUGE!  On the flip side, Arabs are very sensitive to bits, reining, leg aids and voice commands and I couldn't think of a better horse to become a better rider on.  I ride my Arab Briahna on the trail all the time and as long as I'm paying attention, she is too and we have a good ride.  Today on the trail across the street riding with my friend on her quarter horse/clydesdale cross, her horse was the one who did the four foot plant and snort when someone started a gas lawnmower.  Bri just looked in the direction of the noise and walked on!  Wink  Just because they are an Arab, doesn't mean they are flighty.  It all depends on the horse.

...and God took a handful of southerly wind, blew his breath over it and created the horse...

I agree with what I've been reading, its all about the horse as an individual. My arabian, whom I've had since he was a yearling is wonderfuly level headed, calm, collected, amazing horse that can do it all. He is mainly Spanish bred so he's not as hot-headed as the egyptians, but go spend some time with the arab you're thinking about, sounds like a nice girl. :) Good luck
