Re: First Horse advice! Reply Favorites Contact If you can get the horse you learned on I'd suggest that choice. You should have a horse that matches your present riding skills and not the skills you PLAN to have at sometime in the future. If Yapa is such a good school horse now he'll be just as valuable to someone else who is starting out when it's time for you to move up. ~FH Ditto!!!

Clinton Anderson DVD's will help her. She will have to trained both sides or his brain. If the horse is worth the work then give him time, time, time. She can make it happen. I have always loved a good project.

I agree the back issue needs to be fixed 1st and foremost. Have you considered an Equine Chiropractor and or acupuncture. I know that might sound wild, but it does work.

Thank you to everyone for your opnions, but i had rather strengthen my legs and body at this time in my life. I would rather save the mounting block for the older days ahead of me.

to answer your question is to ask another question, what riding discipline does everyone do?

I have a gaited horse with a cough also, my vet had me moved him from a front stall to a stall in the back of the barn to cut down on dust issues. I was advised to stop feed hay and start feed forage cubes instead. Guess what the cough STOPPED. The key is to cut down on the dust! Standlee makes a great product. You can find them a Tractor Supply!
