You are very lucky! I do not have an indoor or even lighted arena, and I work until 4 or 5 everyday, and by then it is pitch black here. I am just counting down the days until spring. I am genuinely a happier person when I get to ride. Much more balance and calm. So..I feel sorry for the people around me the next few months!

I absolutely agree that the training process with get better, than worse, then somewhere in between... it will always be a work in progress so don't beat yourself up. The fact that you care so much and are putting in so much effort means a lot. The video taping is also a great idea, and has helped me alot. Especially when you can't spend a lot on trainers riding your horse and lessons. I always make detailed notes after my lesson so that I can vizualize everything and refer back to how it

Thanks for the comments everyone! He is doing much better, I did his hocks and also his stifles, which flexed sore on his flexion test. He is moving like butter now, so smooth and using his hind end very well. He is still very up and has continued with the bucking, but I'm pretty sure this is due to me not getting to ride much at all now :( by the way, does anyone else get super depressed about riding in the winter? Man, this dark at 4 o clock stuff really cramps my style with work and all. Hopefully

Thanks! He may be built a bit that way. Again, I didn't take a very good angled picture. I'm going to retake soon and repost so it is a little more realistic. He actually has a rather nice sized back end, but I'm sure he is't perfectly proportioned. He is not cow hocked, but he is pigeon toed in the front. Thanks!

Hello All, Havent been on in a while, I know the Summer was definately slow. So heres my issue. My 14 year old hunter has been acting very strange lately. We did some local showing throughout the summer, and had a blast, he did great. However, about 3 weeks ago I was riding and he refused a jump. Let me follow this by saying that he has refused a jump MAYBE three times in the 6 years I have had him. He also has picked bucking back up, and would do it even when we were not jumping. this horse does

Liv To Ride- No...he is a Quarter Horse...jk. Of course he is a warmblood or TB, what else would he be? He is a Trakehner. These pictures are at a weird angle, I agree, so it doesn't really show him porportionately. I spose the dip in his neck is lack of muscling?I will post another one soon. thanks to everyone for looking!

Things had been going great for my horse and I lately. We won our division at our schooling show, he was being much more responsive and I was doing better and being more decisive and seeing and directing him to the distances with the fences. Today was terrible and I feel like I lost everything I gained. We jumped some small lines and every jump except a few, were just all over the place. I would end up on his neck a bit, or behind, or I would freeze up before the jump after he took off way too soon

so, during a riding lesson...on my birthday...my horse and I were doing great. My position was really starting to make a turn around. Some issues I have been working on religiously were finally getting a lot better. Orion was being responsive, supple and steady.Well, needless to say, my confidence was short lived. We were headed over a single jump that we have jumped at least 2000 times. Well, that time aparently it looked terrifying. He spooked and jumped it like a deer, and twice the size it really
