  • Re: Help, Thanks :)

I would like to know why ANYONE is breeding an unproven stud colt ( the term stallion is reserved for male horses over age 3...in other words MATURE). Even more so why to a maiden mare which can be the most difficult of all type of mares to settle. I know the usual answer...because I want to see what he can produce! This is the very worst reason and please tell me it isn't your friends. You BREED a STALLION because he represents the top percent of his breed, has the bloodlines to back it up and has

  • Re: Do you match your clothes to your horse's tack?

Quote: I went to the barn today. I wore my new kerrit riding tights. They were light blue and black. I had a light blue t-shirt on. Then i put my blue plaid saddle pad on socks and i put on blue boots on socks's legs. I also had a navy blue riding crop. When i got down to the ring, nobody said anything about how we mach. I was kinda disapointed about that. Oh well. Do you guys match your clothes to your horses's tack? ~Laura~ Some do!

Quote: I can only imagine the day I ride any of the upper level movements. Just wait until you ask for a passage and it comes even at the beginning stages.

  • Re: Serious Dressage Riders... I need your HELP!

Quote: I spoke to my coach today and questioned her again about the saddle fit. She assured me that the saddle absolutely DOES fit me correctly when I am sitting in it correctly. Those are her exact words. This is a problem many new dressage riders have. Most just throw their rear to the back of the saddle instead of looking for the correct spot. The best way to re-position yourself in the saddle is first stand up in the saddle and place the front of your body ( crouch) as close to the front of the

  • Re: Head set while lunging?

Quote: Ya know.. I admit I don't know exactly what those reins are you are talking about, but personally I prefer as minimal approach as possible. I'm not into the gimmicky training aids. I agree 100%. This is what I achieved by initial training with special elastic running reins but not the type already described. These are what I start with... And after training this is what I achieve. This was taken at a show and 10 minutes into the lunge...

  • Re: The True/False Game for Dressage Riders

True. Started out in jumper, shown hunter, pleasure and westrern games ( with my FEI horse too!) TNP has trouble with lateral work.

Quote: Welcome to the forum!!!! Very glad to see you here. It is great to know someone with your type experience is here to chime in when you feel it necessary. Your boy is quite handsome. Was Dancinglite your last horse before this one? My previous GP horse was a arab/quarterhorse named Northern Lights and the horse in the picture is Dancing Lite..my present horse. This is my GP horse...
