I say go with the blue if he is a grey, thats just my opinion. Also I use a saddle pad with a half pad on top of it. It just gives them the extra cushion and gives me the peace of mind that they are comfortable.

I would say try to find some things to practice jumping over. Also on the flat of course practice heels down but also simple and flying lead changes will help greatly.

Yes, Ive been using conditioner..its working well but I am just impatient. I actually got my saddle off of ebay for a really good deal. I was a lil worried myself because I have never had a bates before and I absolutely love it. The first time riding in it was wonderful, so comfortable

I just got a new Bates saddle, which I love!!! I was just wondering what is the best stuff to use to break it in. It is pretty comfortable already, but just stiff. So besides riding in it what other home remidies do ya have?

I've been reading reviews and all are agreeing that it is way over padded and not worth the money. The Bates is starting to look real good. So if anyone knows of a 17" bates caprilli for sale let me know!

I'm starting to look at saddles and the Jaguar brand has caught my eye!! I was just wondering if any of yall out there have owned one that could give me some opinions on it. Also I have been falling in love with the Bates!

Since you have some new jumpers at your barn, I vote for you to have a wide range of colors. Since at horse shows the jumps are typically all sorts of colors

Just out of curiosity...what is the difference or advantages of using draw reins instead of a running/standing martingale

At the barn I ride at we have about 12 jumps. We have liverpools, gates, walls etc.. Sometimes there are quite interesting ones such as picnic tables. We get a new course just about every month. There are also some caveletties that can be put in the ring if thats what you are working on.

My horse has a weak right side as well and my farrier told me to always work twice as much to the right then to the left until his muscles get equal
