Poor Jack - he was probably hoping he'd seen the last of Al. Imagine his disappointment! Hey if you weren't spending your money on the horses, you'd be wasting it on something else -- at least, that's what I tell myself. Hope the eye treatment goes well.
He'd be spending it on vehicles... oh wait.. How many vehicles do you have FH??? rofl!!! Glad to hear everyone is home safe and sound!!!

  • Re: Shameless plea for votes :)

on the main page that has all the different boards listed.. General dicussion, English, western, Off the wall, ect. on the right hand side of the page you will see usually a number zero in parenthesis. That is the clickable link for chat. If there is a number in the parenthesis that is the number of people in chat at that time. We are always in off the wall chat.

  • Re: Horse has swollen fetlock and vet is out until Wednesday...
Juno had to take meds after the surgery on her infected coffin bone, and this was the only way I could get her to take them. As far as your horse not standing as you work on his leg, try hanging a hay net in front of him to keep him happy as you're busy. That worked for Havannah when we bandaged her LR leg, and again she was not tied. Having your horse stand quietly as you work on him takes much more time, and requires polishing his ground manners. For that

That is an old wound. The scab is peeling off and there is nice pink flesh underneith. I would take the horses temp and if he is running a fever then call your vet back and let them know. Other wise, as long as he is flexing fine I would not be concerned. *NOTE* I am not a vet nor do I play one on tv. But by the pics provided it does not look bad at all to me. The swelling could be from something totally unrelated. If there is no heat in the leg and no oozing wounds AND no temp then I wouldn't
I spent the morning with Al at the trainer's for his first 30 days completion celebration and video'd the 45 minute training session. It's edited down to about 12 minutes here: http://youtu.be/iYjEXlR_ueY The coughing is from an allergy to certain tree pollens and he's getting antibiotic for it. Al is still quite nervous but he's TRYING very hard and NOT reverting to his old paranoia. Still a long way to go. But he's already come a long
