Very Nice !! I am partial to colorful myself! I hope it works out for you.

I would just use it as a treat or just add a bit to your TB's grain ration till it's gone. I can't believe your cows didn't eat it. We put it in our cows feed ration and she loves it. You could also hang on to it to try mixing it with the grain your cows will eventually be getting and see if they eat it then.

I would try to work him in a place with fewer distractions for now. You have a couple of things against you. He is young ( green broke at 4) He is a stallion and he has a respect issue. If he is nipping at you that is not a good sign. If it were me I would work on getting his respect on the ground for now. Do it the way you would with any other horse . I am not more forceful/ harsh with a stallion, but I am more watchful especially if you have other horses around. It is most important that he have

You are seeing the results of a young girl who rides the heck out of her horse! I was her in my teens too! I don't know what happens to us and our horses over the years, I guess we discover our mortality and breakable bodies.

I think to some it is very useful. I have owned horses for a very, very long time and yes, I just pleasure ride, so I could care less what someone else would think of my horse or my riding for that matter :-) I usually answer a post if I have experience in that particular area. I think if people who post would actually "take and apply" some of the good advice instead of wanting to do it their own way ( why did they ask in the first place??) it could be more beneficial. Things like conformation

Have you had her checked by a vet to make sure she is still in foal? She is not bagging up in any way and she doesn't look pregnant to me. It could be the angle of the pictures though...... I have raised quite a few foals over the years and there are some mares that hide them well, but I would have the vet do a preg check. If she is in foal she will need a lot more feed in her last 3 months , ask him for help there too.

It looks like a computer type drawing to me because nothing looks " real". This horse also reminds me of the chickens we buy and raise to butcher. Bred and engineered to grow fast and large. Usually at 8+ pounds they can't support their own weight.

I had never heard of this type of training to reestablish respect. What a great idea!! FH-- will this work with a mule? He doesn't bite or kick but he does get in my space and I don't like it.

Small frequent meals of grass hay to start then add alfalfa hay with it gradually. I found that my rescue TB mare did really well on Strategy feed from Purina. If you talk to your vet he should be able to see your horse and advise you on a feeding schedule, and how to add weight safely. It took my mare 7+ months to gain her weight back( she was a walking skeleton). Yours may also need deworming and dental care before you start.
