OH MY GOD! That is HORRIBLE! I have had nightmares in which random farriers have shod Nick, who is barefoot. And I wake up sick to my stomach. I'm sure that time will bring his hooves back into condition, and I hope his lameness issues resolve quickly! I feel so bad for you. -Nikki

First, I haven't been on here in soooo long--- hi everybody! I miss you guys! I have a puzzling question about Nick's hooves. The vet said it was completely normal, but I'm confused as to what this is: When I pick Nick's hooves lately, there are white patches whic basically shed in little particles (almost like it's snowing) when I "dig" in with the hoof pick. This makes indentations in his hooves, but the vet also said to dig out all the white stuff, and mentioned something about "false sole." I

Oh my God, that picture was a shock. Just thinking what some people do to poor defenseless animals. Bless your soul for rescuing him! He really is a handsome fella, and he's going to shine even more when he puts on some weight. As to him not being very talkative, my horse, Nick, is the same way, just by nature--- he's 100% healthy and happy. He only whinnies/neighs if he is alone in a pasture or if his buddies are in the pasture/going to the pasture and he's being ridden or in his stall. Once, he
