I'm a huge fan of clicker training and I use it with all of my horses. Right now, I have about 15 that have been introduced to clicker training. At the beginning, there may be mouthiness and some horses take longer than others to get past that stage. However, I have used this with two horses who were very food aggressive to teach them to NOT be aggressive about food. It worked great in both cases. None of the clicker trained horses mouth at hands because they understand that a hand doesn't

Everyone is doing pretty good - thanks for asking! Working on getting my 501(c)3 status so I don't have to work under an umbrella anymore. I have plenty of pics....you asked for it. LOL. This isn't everyone, but most of them. Bellamy and Red: Brooklyn: Dancer: Faith: Gizmo: India: Maya with her first kid rider: Nikki: Noah: Pippa and crew: Lady: Tuff and Gunpowder:

Noah is my mom's horse! She got him this fall and he's her first horse. They love each other sooooo much. lol. She's a total beginner and he's a wonderful teacher for her. He's some kind of grade gaited breed and he's 17. The 501(c)3 application is almost 30 pages long. Plus you have to get incorporated and get an employee id # through the IRS among some other forms and paperwork. It's a huge headache and that's why I've put it off. I have an attorney working on

One of my rescue mares colicked about every other day for a few weeks. A fortune in vet bills later, it was finally cured with a good winter blanket. She just wouldn't drink because it was so cold and the blanket keeps her warm enough to encourage drinking. Are you sure your boy is drinking enough water? That said, I'm a huge fan of this stuff, Colic Guard, which has probiotics in it: http://theholistichorse.com/index.php?page=details&id=493

I've had the hardest time getting into this forum the past few months. Anyway, in December I got two new rescues. One a 7 y/o Trakehner gelding and the other was an adorable little pony. The Trak, Reggie, had surgery on his stifle a year ago and was later abandoned by his owner who got in over her head financially. He proceeded to change hands several times over a year, was restarted undersaddle, and then started rearing. His owner was going to put him down. Luckily, someone who met him at UGA

Hey, it's good to hear from you too. I was actually thinking the last time I was on here that I hadn't saw a post from you in a while. Reggie is a gorgeous horse. He also made all the other horses here look godawful when he stood next to them. LOL. He just can't really do the level of Dressage they wanted to do with him after he hurt his leg. But heck, if he were brought along slowly and correctly, you never know! He had started rearing when they tried to start Dressage with him again

Yes, he'll be very fancy on the trails! lol. She also rides western. Here is Reggie's ad from before he injured himself: http://www.warmbloods-for-sale.com/HorseDetail.asp?HorseID=9114&UserID=1601 Glad to hear that you're out of your horsey funk. :)

Hard to believe two of them were to be put down, right? Coco and Reggie are both bound for their new homes now. I think Oliver was ridden at his previous home. I bet he'd make a great kid's pony eventually. He just has founder issues.

[quote user="spragueme"] I must say that you have alot to learn about customer service Stimpy. I have never in my life seen anyone try to fix things by being rude as this post is. Is this how you really treat customers? If you were a retail manager, you would be loosing business. This is a free site that I spend most of my time on. I find it to be the most useful to have our equine related question answered. I like the people and the services offered. But I do not like your tone. You had

Another ditto here! I've been a member of the forums since the About days like many others. I adjusted to the new ES format, but this one is just awful. I used to be on here every day but I might check in once a week now. It's just too annoying. I mean really, are the powers that be not noticing the huge drop in numbers, fewer posts, and fewer replies? I know in my infrequent visits, I notice those things. Green Pastures is pretty much the old About/Equisearch crowd along with some others
