  • Im training a 3 year old.

Is 3 years old to young to start in a bridle with a bit? Today my trainer put a bit in her mouth(i didn't see her do it,but she told me)and angel spit it back out. I guess she didn't do anything after that. Or... if shes at the right age..is it okay to leave the bridle and bit on(take the reins off)and leave her in a stall for her to get used to it for a while. .. Me and this other girl have been riding angel with only a halter and lead rope. My trainer is there with a lunge line..we work

  • Hyalun

Anyone here use Hyalun? If so,what are your thoughts about it on your horse? We just started it today on my 20yr old QH. Shes been on and off from time to time. Today when i rode her,she was really off in both directions. In the past we've been giving her bute to help her out. So now we are going to try this new stuff and see if socks gets better. If this doesn't work, then my trainer wants to try special shoes for her. Thanks.

  • Planet Green..

Does anybody have the new Planet Green channel? http://planetgreen.discovery.com/ I went to click on the channel finder to see if we have it.. and it came up as channel 286 on direct tv. So i turned on that channel and it says that its not purchased. So now i can't watch that channel. Maybe i can get dad to buy that channel. It would be neat to see all of these new "green" shows. You know? ~Laura~

  • Weight Care

I got one of those weight tapes from Smart Pack Equine. I wanted to see how much my horse weighs. It came out to 988 pounds. Is that good or bad for a 27 year old mare? Shes eatting senior food. She gets fat cat supplements mixed into the senior feed along with some oil. Now we are tryn beet pulp. Shes eatting a hand full for the beet pulp for now. You can see a "belly" coming along on her. Her ribs aren't showing as much..you can still feel them, but there not showing as much. So is

  • my old horse..

My horse is 27years old. Shes looseing a bit of weight. So last month we started her on senior feed. She seems to really like this feed. She gets a full metal scoop of the feed in a bucket and thats her lunch every day. In that bucket is her meds and supplements. Today my trainer ordered some beet bulp. So we are going to try that. So hopefully she will gain some more weight and look a little better. We have to order some more fat cat from Smart Pack Equine,so im going to order weight tape. That

  • blanket problem..

My horse wears a size 74. I got her a new rain sheet for this spring. Its a little big on her. In the front it hangs down low,and i can pull it back on her shoulders. Im afraid that it will rub on her while shes outside in the field. I don't want to go down a size because it will be short on her back/butt. My horse is old and her body isn't filling up the room in the rain sheet. Any ideas? From, Laura
