I take it you haven't been to our lovely DMV yet either.... Trust me. Take EVERYTHING they "suggest," because you'll need it. I swear they are required to find something wrong and make you come back at least once per visit. ((((HUGS)))) I know exactly what you're going through. I've moved 2x in 2 years, new job, divorce...yep. Are you losing hair? I did, by the handful. Weight? Nope, didn't lose any of THAT even though I ate Tums like candy. Go figure. Printer? Yep.
I'm moving to northwest VA and will be sort of in between Blacksburg and Christiansburg.
When you're driving down I-80 towards your new home and you pass through Winchester, VA, at the Rt 7 exit look off to your left and wave. I'm about 45 minutes or so to the east of there. Welcome to Virgina!

Now now Remmer, no PDAs. You know how much that upsets our overly-sensitive OP!
And you Wilmorab, keep trying to get me to reply to you. I don't have the time for you. You are a little (well, more than a little) touched in the head. You keep referring to different songs that are in your head!! You also have anger issues.
Anger? Nah. You make me laugh :) Sorry to disappoint you, but my cheese remains firmly on the cracker. Off to sing Jo Dee Messina this time " let me dig a little deeper...nope, sorry. Nothin' "
Well, that was obviously a typo and not a spelling error. I will not even comment on your spelling or lack thereof...And you Wilmorab ,
Please check your spelling of my name before going all grammar police on others. I am WiMorabs, not WiLmorab. Kthxbai

Out of curiosity, what are you feeding him? Could the amount of energy in the feed be too much for him, thus causing him to react strongly when asked to do something he doesn't want or is wary of doing?

Good to see you've already thought of addressing feed issues :) I completely understand the "too many horses" problem, LOL! At one time I had 4. One retired elderly gelding & 3 young greenies (the ones I started from scratch). I was nuttier than a fruitcake, but I LOVE working with new baby greenies. They're so fun! Other than working through the tying issue, I'm not sure what else to suggest. Maybe just going down the road & back until he realizes that he's going

PJ, I'm glad I read all the way through before I posted (YAY!!) but as I was reading, your mare was sounding quite a bit like my first few rides on Bailey (in my sig). We did what you did, the extensive groundwork/driving etc. He was great & knew all the verbal cues. What he couldn't figure out was what to do with me on him, not next to him. I ended up doing just what your BF did & had a friend reinforce the ground cues while I added the riding cues. As you can see from my sig, he's

Jerry Springer? Hardly, LOL!! Try the comments at http://fuglyhorseoftheday.blogspot.com/ for a real Jerry Springer/mob mentality (I read but refuse to post). Maybe it's because I visit other boards where deep discussion is allowed & encouraged, but I don't see anyone truly fighting with the OP. I see most posters, including myself, completely shocked at the extreme level of outrage in the OP's response. That right hook just came out of nowhere [quote user="Cowgirl_Chic"

Your "stand vs. come" explanation does help to clear up what the OP was doing (but what was she thinking...nice, now Dirks Bentley is in my head, LOL!) Everything else made sense to me because that's how I was taught. Thanks
