That's awesome! Congratulations!

No large knees are not a characteristic of TB's. If you could show us a picture of your geldings knees we could maybe give you a better answer. My TB mare has a bone chip in one of her knees and it looks like a "knob" or a big lump but her knee doesn't actually look "large", it just looks like there's a gigantci mosquito bite on it.

We use Safechoice so I'll give them a call!

So, we're thinking of getting equine insurance on our mare. She's our only horse and even though she's "broken" (bone chip in her front knee), she's worth the world to us. So, someone on another board mentioned getting her horse insured, so that got me thinking. Maybe I should get our girl insured just in case. So, I start e-mailing some companies and calling some others. Boy oh boy is it CONFUSING!!! I'm getting so many different amounts for so many different kinds of insurance with so many different

I totally know how you feel about not wanting to go on his property and I suggested it because I thought you said that he didn't live there. I'm picturing a rural area with horses and a barn and no houses around. Then again, I'm thinking that I just might take the chance and look for myself and if he caught me I'd just say that I thought I saw his horse looking lame and I wanted to find out so that I could let him know (and the police, humane society and everyone else!, but I wouldn't tell him that

Since the guy knows you guys why haven't you already gone out and tried to find the horse? So, the guy sees you on his land and you just tell him you noticed one of his horses was injured. I doubt he'd do anything stupid. If it were me I would do that and I would also call the Humane Society (that's what it's called around here) every single day until something was done. I don't know why some people can be so uncaring but they are. There was a story on our news last week about a barn a few towns

if so, what has your experience with them been lately? The last 3 times we've gone there something went "wrong". The first time, my daughter was told that a pair of breeches was $40 and when we got to the cash register they were $90. The next time I went for flax seed, called and they said they had it, went to get it and the girl said they were out of it (same day sold out? yeah right), called today to order shavings for the first time, and the info that I had been given about delivery charges was

Oh that's a great name! Acutually this auction did have a preview day on Friday, which we went to also. There were little binders with the horse's informaiton in them and all they said was when they had their shots/teeth/feet done etc. Nothing about how they rode, what discipline or anything! I know the one guy who bought the 3 Haf's has a HUGE lesson barn around here and why he needs more horses is way beyond me. They already have more than anyone else around here and I know their lesson program

auction? Well, we hadn't and we went to one yesterday. Won't go back that's for sure! It was for a school for "special needs" kids and it was closing down. When it was in operation they had equine, resturant, mechanic and metal shop studies. So now that they're closed (because they didn't get enough money from the state I guess) they had to auction everything off. I always thought you got great deals at auctions so that's why we sat around for 5 HOURS waiting to bid on two tiny piles of stuff. Actually

have you ever noticed that the people on those shows who are charged with starving their horses look like they haven't missed too many meals? Selfish people.
