  • Re: Odd jobs for a horse lover?

Thanks for all the input so far. There are several barns in the area so I'll see if there's anything that might work out for me. Also a private "horsey" community within bicycle distance where folks might have horses that need some tlc.

Thanks. It would probably help for me to do some riding with a trainer around here so they can speak to my skill level and then hopefully things might pick up from there. Another example of the spend money to make money principle : )

Hi KCS. Well unfortunately, Norco is about 75 miles away : ( I'm located in the west SF Valley so closer to Calabasas, Westlake, Agoura, Hidden Hills, Malibu etc.

  • Odd jobs for a horse lover?

Hi there. I recently relocated to Southern California and am in the process of applying for a real job- which may take me 4 to 8+ weeks. Meanwhile, I'd like to make some money doing odd jobs (preferably horse related). I was thinking I might be able to make some money cleaning tack. So my question is, what do you feel would be fair prices to thoroughly clean and condition bridles and saddles? I would provide quality cleaning/conditioning products (or use other specific products provided by the

Good luck. Hope it all works out. Can you post a picture of Shadid? I was gone for awhile and not familiar with him (or her).

  • Re: Cautiously Considering Lease-Need Advice

Be sure that everything pertaining to the lease is in writing (who is responsible for what) and signed by both parties. Also when I leased a horse, I made sure that the horse was insured for mortality and major medical- I split the cost with the owner which made the lease more expensive but the peace of mind was worth it. Good luck!

  • Re: Anyone familiar with the West SF Valley, Malibu area?

Thanks for the input so far. I am hoping to find a good trainer at a nice facility that has quality lesson horses. The closer distance wise the better of course. I'll ask around and plan to visit a few places but meanwhile if anyone knows of anything please let me know. Thanks so much.

Solo is just gorgeous, you two look great together. Sorry it didn't go as well as you would have liked but you did get a ribbon!

  • Anyone familiar with the West SF Valley, Malibu area?

I just moved back recently and am looking for a good place to take lessons (hunter/jumper to start but open to dressage too). Can anyone recommend a good place near the 91367 area code? With regard to experience, I owned a horse way back when for several years and did some showing (both english and western). Took up riding again recently and took lessons for almost a year at a hunter jumper barn with a few dressage lessons at a different facility. I don't own a horse- but hope to in the future
