  • spooky horse

I have a half arabian/half thoroughbred. He spooks at almost anything. The other day i even tried to drink water on his back and he trew me off, and right onto the fence. Weve tried to get him used to many things, such as fly spray and water bottles, plastic bags, but he gets used to it, then the next day he forgets and is scared of it again... Does he really forget, or is he just trying to get out of it? Any advice on how to bombproof him?

  • loading

My horse will not load. I took him to camp not to long ago, and it took us around 45 mins to get in the trailer(with help from the stable hand and a bucket of feed). It took about 2 hours to get him back in the trailer to get him home. He is not trailered much, considering i dont have a trailer. My trainer tried hitting him with a lead rope and even tried a stud chain. The stud chain just made my horse freak out and start rearing as high as he could and kicking around. He even made a huge gash on

  • Re: This was... weird

I dont really know but they do. My gelding does the same thing. It may just be them. And at least my horse does this, but after a spook like that, he gets jumpy and antsy and doesnt like to obey. Usually lungening them helps. As for the other horse he might have had a delayed reaction or not seen anything till later.

  • High school equestrian team?

I am a freshman at a little private school in Texas. I was looking into getting an equestrian team. Is there any others in Texas we could compete with? Or does anyone have any advice? Also if anyone knows of a volunteer work or job for a 15 year old for the summer, in Texas that would be nice.
