  • Re: Gaited and Barefoot?

I thought the same thing not enough options. All my horses are shod (except the colt) I have quit shoeing my 25 yr. old all the way around and he just gets his fronts done since he is just a pasture pet now. I have both mares shod all the way around though probably more for me than them. LOL

  • Re: A few questions about gaited horses

Your friend would be amazed how a little time longeing will toward taking the edge off of the horse. Plus it establishes who is in charge hope she doesn't let that deter her if she wants it. paintlvr

  • Horse Resolutions for the New Year

Horse Resolutions For The New Year: * I CAN walk and poop at the same time. I can, I can, I can * I will NOT stop and poop or urinate every time I pass the same spot in the arena. * I will NOT leave when my rider falls off. * My stall is NOT my litter box. When I have free access to my paddock, I will NOT go back inside to pee. * I will NOT roll in streams or try to roll when my human is on my back. * I will NOT leap over large nonexistent obstacles when the whim strikes. * I will NOT walk faster

  • Re: Stall cleaning question

Something to keep in mind though. the more you "shake the poop the more it breaks up. I really like more of a sawdust/small chips as with the pretty curls you tote most of them out in the wheelbarrow. But back to shake the poop really if you can kinda do it like the chefs do an eggs flip it like, the shaving fall through and the poop stays. You really have to find what works best for you though, and stall cleaning takes practice. I like for my Hubby to clean my stalls but then again I cringe

If you don't get it you just don't get it!!!! That being said my DH just doesn't get it. He calls us all crackheads. He just couldn't fathom me cleaning stall Christmas Day. Well it is a job I don't like to get behind on and it had to be done as I had to work the next day. I was cleaning stalls Sun and he comes to the stall door and asked is it worth it. WELL DUH, I told him I don't mind cleaning stalls it is just getting started. : ) And if I'm going to have them then

  • Happy New Year One and All

Well another year has come and gone, hope it went well for everyone. If not, hope this is your year. Well things are going good here on the hill. We FINALLY finished the addition and Beau finally has his room. It took awhile to sell him on the idea though. After all he had company the first 7 mos. of his life. Bailey got the new stall she is my most well adjusted horse and her stall is in back by itself so I thought she could handle just having Toby (barn cat) for company. Everyone is doing good
