Your horse is ready for a trim. Nothing strange or abnormal, just a hoof getting long and a frog needing trimed too.

You can shoe her to be more stable in the hocks. She is still really young. I have a warmblood cross 4 yr old and I have not started her yet. The best thing for any young horse is to be out playing and getting balance. After being around horses for years the best thing for long term soundness is not riding young horses. Unluckily most people do not have the time to wiat.

The only horses I have seen with a crack up the toe have squred off looking hooves. The best thing for her would be a very good trimmer/shoer. It only takes 7 to 9 months to grow a complete new hoof. Be sure the shoer uses a foot stand and brings all 4 feet forward onto it.

I have seen things like this twice. Both times they became huge! The people refered to them as a blood wart. They needed the vet to remove them.

1. Is there a chance she is abcessing because she has a throid problem? Does she have a very cresty neck? 2. If this is not the case she must be thin soled and be bruising easily. As soon as she is sound enough I would put pads and shoes on her. Lots of nice medicated stuff you can use as hoof packing. 3. What we do on a daily basis is attempt to get the abcess to pop faster. After that the number one healer is time. It will not make a huge amount of difference if you do not get there daily. So do

Be sure both you and your freind have a cell phone that works at the barn! Call the sheriff/police and get an officer out to talk to and file a report. I am sure they will tell you there is nothing they can do yet but you then have proof of a problem. Also there is a chance he is irrational to others. Having a report from someone else will help. Unluckily a brain tumor will change some people. Does he have any family? Dont feel bad or guilty about calling the sheriff everytime you see him where he

If it is a large amount of white light you could be ticketed for having it on. So it would depend on how closed in your trailer is. I may use one to load but then turn it off.

I also have to agree she is over flexed and way behind the vertical with her head. She is avoiding the bit, she has found that this position gets you off her mouth so even when you ride with loose reins she is responding to you. Straightign your back and shoulders would really improve the looks and movement of your horse too. A litle work to get her moving a bit off her rear would really help with how well you do. She is good enough to place now at open shows but to be consistant with winner she

I think your husband may be getting his wish...... From the looks of things nothing he would have done would have made things better. Where she stepped on the nail is directly under the cofin bone. From the looks of her leg (not her hoof) she now has a bone infection. It looks like th einfection has traveled through the coffin bone and is now eating away at the short pasturn bone. The mare needs an ex-ray of that hoof. What should have happened is after the first few weeks a vet needed to ex-ray
