I think I'm confused. I probably called it a "swivel" snap because I was referring to the collar that you swivel in order to open and close the hinged head. Anyway, I think the snap that was shown in one of the images is much better and will probably replace the ones that don't work with that. I just want Customer Service to be up front with me. I cannot imagine that I'm the only one who had problems with that "collar" design.

"Are you talking about this twist snap? It's a great snap, but once the spring in it wears out, it's pretty much toast :( Sounds like that's what's happened with your snap." Thank you so much for your input and the pictures. Really, everyone has been very helpful and I'm grateful for all the input. My rope looks just like the one on the bolt snap. On the twist snap, I know there has to be a ball baring and as you twist the collar around there is a point where it kind

"Anyways, no worries about me buying any either, I'm set on leads for a while and even then won't be spending that kind of money on one!" You are probably right that we spent too much money, but it was advertised as a combination lead/lunge rope and it is longer than a normal lead rope. I bought a number of videos as well and they were very helpful. This particular lead was used for desensitizing the horse by throwing it over his back, under his stomach, around his legs, etc. The

Since I complained about Customer Service for Downunder Horsemanship, I wanted to make sure that I let everyone know that they did come through. I spoke with them again this morning and they offered to send me two of the new style clips for $10. If I had purchased them myself, it would have been $40 plus shipping. So, I am happy with the outcome and I do want to stress that all of the other products we've purchased have been fine. I have been especially happy with the videos and I actually got

I think the last response had plenty of good information, but here's my suggestion: if you have never done this before, get someone who knows what he/she is doing to help. Some horses are really good at lead changes and others are not. Yes, it's important for them to be straight, you to be balanced, etc., but that is often easier said than done. I have shown reining horses and that means I had to do a lot of lead changes and I had professional trainers. You would be amazed at how differently

This morning my husband and I discovered that our 3 horses were loose. One of the horses had gotten loose a couple of weeks ago and I thought maybe he had jumped the fence, but now I know they have found a spot and thank goodness we were able to secure the main fence until we can find it. But, that's not my real point. We purchased two of those swivel head lead ropes from Clinton Anderson. Don't get me wrong, we have purchased a number of things through his company and have been very satisfied

Sorry, I cannot figure out how to add a photo!!! However, I did add it in Photos, under Anne W I've taken a picture of the clip in the open position. I'm hoping you can see how it works. It is hinged at the top and the arm on the one side inserts into the sleeve. The sleeve is then rotated and supposedly locks into place. All you do is rotate it in opposite directions to open and close it. What is happening to both clips is they are no longer locking (at least when they are cold). I thought
