Hi, I'm Sadiesgal. I've never had a blog before, and, heck, this just seemed like a really cool new feature to Equisearch! My new blog is entirely about horses, namely my horse, Sadie. Sadie is a 12 year old Arab/Paint mare and we trail ride mostly western, but I ride bareback a lot too. I trained...

Lately, there has been a lot of discussion about horses that have been left neglected and starving due to gas prices, costs backyard breeding and other factors. As I thought of this, I realized that many people do not really sit and think about all that is involved in owning a horse. First of all, a...

This is so fun! I used to love dressing up and riding my grandpa's Arabians in local parades. Lucky for me, the hit show Mad Men has made it fashionable to wear my riding attire in any setting :-). My favorties picks right now are at my other blog www.BestHorseGift.com .

When the judges are listening to your music, what are they listening for? One of the most frequently asked questions I get is, “How do the judges evaluate my music?” I’m going to go over the guidelines that are given to the judges so you can be on the same page as they are. In last month’s newsletter...

Okay My Quarter Horse Gelding is getting pretty heavy on the forehand. How can I lighten him up? He is getting very uncomfortable to ride because I am getting pulled foreward in the saddle. He is only ten and has been checked by a vet there is nothing medically wrong with him. I know how to: Walk, Jog...

I started jumping my 7 year old thoroughbred 2 months ago. I've started noticing when I started jumping her that she is so hard to control. After I jump her in a controlled canter and then when she comes back to the ground she canters fast and you can't barely stop her, I have gotten 3 blisters...
